TORY 38%, FORD 32%, CHOW 20%; OTHER 3%, 7% UNDECIDED

TORONTO, October 24th, 2014. A new Mainstreet Technologies poll of Torontonians nds John
Tory holding onto his lead with those most likely to vote. Among all respondents the poll found
Tory with 38% (-), Doug Ford at 32% (+3) and Olivia Chow at 20% (-2). 7% (-1) of respondents
were undecided and 3% (+3) will vote for a diferent candidate; the poll had a margin of error of
+/- 1.64%.
With 3,569 respondents, this is the largest poll of the Toronto Mayoral Election. The polls large
sample size allowed Mainstreet to break down results by borough.
Among decided voters, Mr. Tory leads Doug Ford by 8%, 42% to 34%, with Olivia Chow at 22%.
Among those self-identied as certain to vote, he leads 42% to 28%, a diference of 14% (-3) with
5% undecided, and 23% voting for Olivia Chow.
"Olivia Chows only remaining strength is in the downtown where she is second to John Tory
said Mainstreet Technologies President, Quito Maggi. Doug Ford has grown his support around
the city but with those Torontonians least likely to vote - Mr. Tory still commands a double digit
lead among those who have voted or who are certain to vote.
Its Torys lead among those likeliest to vote that will deliver him a win on Monday, Doug Fords
campaign has resonated but not with the Torontonians his campaign needs," he nished.

Methodology
The poll surveyed a random sample of residents in the City of Toronto by Interactive Voice
Response (IVR) on October 23rd, 2014. The questions were; how likely are you to vote in
Torontos municipal election? (Certain or already voted, Likely, Might, Unlikely, Not Eligible)
Thinking about the race for Mayor, if an election were held today, for whom would you cast your
vote? (Olivia Chow, Doug Ford, John Tory, Someone Else, Undecided; order randomized).
Respondents were asked to indicate their age and their gender. Responses were weighed
geographically. Note margin of error is larger for subsamples.
