Statement of Intent

As a technology enthusiast, the passionate urge to combine what I



ve learnt from communication engineering with new technologies that computer science called me to revisit theirfundamentals, challenge the complexities, and trek intoexciting new ventures. Years of learning, studying and experiencing in theDepartment of Communication Engineering at NationalCentral University have endowed me with the ability to judge and solve problems, oen from dierent perspectives.Having also teach-assisted on campus, lead the undergrat-uate division of the school network operation group, co- worked with peers on new ideas in laboratories, and workedpart-time as a web application developer on the hypo projecthelped me became a good communicator and leader. At National Tsing Hua University, I wish to pursue a nergrasp of embedded systems, network applications, data min-ing and natural language processing by learning:1. more about the fundamentals, by looking into the Android project, with an emphasis on its applicationframeworks, the underlying Dalvik Virtual Machineand its kernel. I also wish to understand the very natureof the assembly language and how programs compile.2. practical cloud computing, by mastering the hadoopframework, which coordinates and aggregates com-puting units.I will keep myself updated and competitive by regularly aending seminars, conferences, and courses of other dis-ciplines. I would also keep building new web applicationsusing new technologies to keep up with the status quo.Ideas would be powerful enough to change the way we liveand think only if they were implemented. Being a bivalententhusiast in communication engineering and computerscience, I



m now fully prepared for another great venture,seeing a greater future coming to reality.
