There was a muffled thud as the man that Jim was trying to kill fell to thefloor. There was a giant red spot on his shirt where the bullet went through. The man was gasping for breath, looking up at Jim, his eyes, sad, wereclosing for the last time. None of this affected Jim, who was now steppingover the body to look around the man's apartment. There was a picture on theside table of the man with a woman and two children.
No matter. The manowed the boss something, and he would pay it back, one way or another.
Jim moved into the bedroom; it was pretty bare. Just a bed, and nightstand, and a TV in the centre. Jim opened up the drawer in the night standand found what he came for; a wad of hundred dollar bills. Slowly, Jimcounted them.
Five grand, perfect. So this guy
 did
have the money. Too bad he didn't bring it to the boss soon enough.
And speaking of the boss, Jim needed to let him know how it wasgoing. He picked up his cell phone and dialled. “Hello?” said a voice at theother end.“He's dead. I found five grand in his bedroom.” Jim said, “Want it?”“Of course,” replied the boss. “It
is
my money after all. I have just onemore favour for you. I need you to look around his apartment for something. It's a picture of this guy with a woman and two kids. See it?”Jim walked back to the front room and picked up the picture off of theside table. “Yeah, I found it.“OK, don't take it with you. If you did it could be traced back to me. Iwant you to use your cell phone camera and take a picture of it. Then e-mailthat picture to me.”Jim took the cell phone from his ear and snapped the picture, thenpunched some buttons and put the phone back to his ear. “Done. Is that all?”His boss sighed, “Yes, that will be all. Come to the usual place in twohours, bring the cash, less your payment. Take an extra hundred for a tip.”Jim hung up and walked over to the corpse on the floor.
Whatever you
