This is intentionallyformated so that you will be able to tuck your plan into your Bible andrefer to it throughout the year.
Life Verse
what I feel called to do / be
Pick a verse(s) that mean the most to you, or offers you the mostdirection for your life. For example, I have two life verses. One describesthe call I feel God has put on my life: “By God
ʼ
s grace and mightypower, I have been given the privilege of serving him by spreading thisGood News.” Ephesians 3:7 NLT. While this other verse is a constantreminder for the call I have as wife and mother: “Her children arise andcall her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her...” Proverbs 31:28NIV. Both work together to guide and direct my life purpose.
Life Purposes
what I hope to be, inwardly and outwardly
Write a statement or two that describes how you want to live your life andwhat you hope to accomplish. Break it down “Inwardly” and “Outwardly.”This isn
ʼ
t the how to, but rather the “hope to” statement. For example,“Inwardly, to become a woman that seeks the heart of God and finds restby trusting Him. Outwardly, to be a light in this dark world by testifying toChrist
ʼ
s redemptive, transforming power and sharing his love andforgiveness with others.”
Life Goals
what I hope to see the Lord accomplish through my life
These are short statements that describe the things you
ʼ
d like toaccomplish or be known for at the end of your life. List as many or asfew as you would like. You can describe things pertaining torelationships, career, ministry, hobbies, passions, health, finances, andcharacter traits within yourself.
2010 Theme
what I feel called to learn
This is a short statement that describes your mission for the year. It is thelesson you want God to teach you. For example, I
ʼ
ve had a theme of“Live, Love, Laugh” and this past year was “Hope and Trust.” This year,my theme is “Being Transformed by God
ʼ
s Grace to Live Simply, Holy, and Deeply in Christ.Feel free to use this, too!

2010 Theme Verse
what I feel challenged to realize personally
Pick a verse that dovetails with your theme statement, or vice versa. Thetwo should be connected somehow. For example, my verse is 2 John2:28 “...stay with Christ.
Live deeply in Christ
. Then we
ʼ
ll be ready forhim when he appears, ready to receive him with open arms, with nocause for red-faced guilt or lame excuses when he arrives.” You can pickmultiple verses to go along with your theme statement.
One Year Goals
what I hope to see the Lord accomplish and discipline myself in this year
Anne Ortlund, author of “Disciplines of a Beautiful Woman,” sets up herone year goals by breaking them down into three priorities:Priority 1: GodPriority 2: The Body of ChristPriority 3: The Spiritually, Emotionally, and Physically Needy of theWorld.Within each of these categories, write short statements that would enableyou to see growth in each of these areas. For example, in Priority 1:God, you might indicated goals for Scripture reading, prayer, service, stewardship. In Priority 2: The Body of Christ, you might indicated plansfor your role as wife, mother, friend, and sister in Christ. In Priority 3, TheSpiritually, Emotionally, and Physically Needy of the World, you mightwrite downs ways to get involved in your community, support missions, share the Gospel with others.Your next step is prayer. Spend time with the Lord discussing your goalsand priorities, and what He has in mind for you. Then use the followingpage to complete your own Living Intentionally plan for 2010.
