Crime and Safety Survey Data Training: Using the 2007-08 School Survey on Crime
and Safety and the 2007 School Crime Supplement to the National Crime
Victimization Survey Databases for Research and Policy Discussion: The National
Center for Education Statistics, Institute of Education Sciences, U.S. Department of
Education, is hosting a two-day advanced study seminar on the use of two school crime and
safety databases for research and policy studies. The free event is being held March 22 -23

Freddie Mac Foundation Outcomes Funding Workshops: The Freddie Mac Foundation
is sponsoring two workshops targeted to executive directors, program managers, and
development directors. The workshops are open to those seeking Foundation funds, new
staff members as well as those who want to refresh their knowledge of the Freddie Mac
Foundation application and its investor context. Organizations are encouraged to bring a
team of no more than three to the workshop. The workshops will be held on Wednesday,
January 27, 2010. The hours for the two workshops are 8:00 am – noon and 1:00 pm –5:00
pm. All workshops will be conducted at Freddie Mac, 8200 Jones Branch Drive, McLean, VA,
Conference Room Atlanta A. A continental breakfast will be provided in the morning and
refreshments will be available in the afternoon. To register for one of the two sessions,
please email freddie_mac_foundation@freddiemac.com by 4:00 pm Wednesday, January
20, 2010. Include organization name, the name and title of all attendees and each
attendees email address and phone number. Reservations will be taken on a first come first

QuickHealthDataOnline training: The federal Office on Women’s Health’s online
information system contains data on demographics, mortality, reproductive and maternal
health, disease incidence, and access to care at the county level for all states and
territories. Data is also available on prevention, violence, and mental health at the state
level. When possible, race, ethnicity, age, and gender data is presented.
