Christian

Those who disbelieve from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and
Christian
s) and Al-Mushrikûn,[]were not going to leave (their disbelief) until there came to them clear evidenceTranslation : Eng-Dr. Mohsin
They (Jews and
Christian
s) took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allâh (by obeyingthem in things which they made lawful or unlawful according to their own desires without being ordered byAllâh), and (they also took as their Lord) Messiah, son of Maryam (Mary), while they (Jews and
Christian
s) were commanded [in the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)) to worship none but OneIlâh (God - Allâh) Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)[]. Praise and glory is toHim, (far above is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him)."Translation : Eng-Dr. Mohsin
And there is none of the people of the Scripture (Jews and
Christian
s), but must believe in him ['Īsā(Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), as only a Messenger of Allâh and a human being],[] before his ['Īsā(Jesus) A.S. or a Jew's or a
Christian
's] death[] (at the time of the appearance of the angel of death). Andon the Day of Resurrection, he ['Īsā (Jesus)] will be a witness against themTranslation : Eng-Dr. Mohsin
Never will the Jews nor the
Christian
s be pleased with you (O Muhammad Peace be upon him ) till youfollow their religion. Say: "Verily, the Guidance of Allâh (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism) that is the (only)Guidance. And if you (O Muhammad Peace be upon him ) were to follow their (Jews and

desires after what you have received of Knowledge (i.e. the Qur'ân), then you would have against Allâhneither any Walî (protector or guardian) nor any helper.Translation : Eng-Dr. Mohsin
The Jews say: "The
Christian
s have naught (to stand) upon"; and the
Christian

And the Jews say the
Christian
s follow nothing (true), and the
Christian

The Jews said that the
Christian
s follow nothing (i.e. are not on the right religion); and the
Christian
ssaid that the Jews follow nothing (i.e. are not on the right religion); though they both recite the Scripture.Like unto their word, said (the pagans) who know not. Allâh will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection about that wherein they have been differing.Translation : Eng-Dr. Mohsin
Made lawful to you this day are At¬Tayyibât [all kinds of Halâl (lawful) foods, which Allâh has made lawful(meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables and fruits). The food (slaughteredcattle, eatable animals,) of the people of the Scripture (Jews and
Christian
s) is lawful to you and yours islawful to them. (Lawful to you in marriage) are chaste women from the believers and chaste women fromthose who were given the Scripture (Jews and
Christian
s) before your time, when you have given their due Mahr (bridal - money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage), desiring chastity (i.e.taking them in legal wedlock) not committing illegal sexual intercourse, nor taking them as girl-friends.And whosoever disbelieves in faith [i.e. in the Oneness of Allâh and in all the other Articles of Faith, i.e.His (Allâh's), Angels, His Holy Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection and Al-Qadar (DivinePreordainments)], then fruitless is his work, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.Translation : Eng-Dr. Mohsin
And from those who call themselves
Christian
s, We took their covenant, but they have abandoned agood part of the Message that was sent to them.[] So We planted amongst them enmity and hatred till theDay of Resurrection (when they discarded Allâh's Book, disobeyed Allâh's Messengers and His Ordersand transgressed beyond bounds in Allâh's disobedience), and Allâh will inform them of what they used todo.Translation : Eng-Dr. Mohsin
And with those who say: "Lo! we are
Christian
s," We made a covenant, but they forgot a part of thatwhereof they were admonished. Therefor We have stirred up enmity and hatred among them till the Day

of Resurrection, when Allah will inform them of their handiwork.Translation : Eng-Pickthal-Audio
From those, too, who call themselves
Christian
s, We did take a Covenant, but they forgot a good part of the Message that was sent them: so We estranged them, with enmity and hatred between the one andthe other, to the Day of Judgment. And soon will Allah show them what it is they have done.Translation : Eng-Yusuf Ali
O people of the Scripture (Jews and
Christian
s)! Now has come to you Our Messenger (MuhammadSAW) explaining to you much of that which you used to hide from the Scripture and pass over (i.e. leavingout without explaining) much. Indeed, there has come to you from Allâh a light (Prophet Muhammad SAW) and a plain Book (this Qur'ân).Translation : Eng-Dr. Mohsin
And (both) the Jews and the
Christian
s say: "We are the children of Allâh and His loved ones." Say:"Why then does He punish you for your sins?" Nay, you are but human beings, of those He has created,He forgives whom He wills and He punishes whom He wills. And to Allâh belongs the dominion of theheavens and the earth and all that is between them, and to Him is the return (of all).Translation : Eng-Dr. Mohsin
(Both) the Jews and the
Christian
s say: "We are sons of Allah, and His beloved." Say: "Why then dothHe punish you for your sins? Nay ye are but men,― of the men He hath created: He forgiveth whom Hepleaseth, and He punisheth whom He pleaseth: and to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens andthe earth, and all that is between: and unto Him is the final goal (of all)."Translation : Eng-Yusuf Ali
The Jews and
Christian
s say: We are sons of Allah and His loved ones. Say: Why then doth He chastiseyou for your sins? Nay, ye are but mortals of His creating. He forgiveth whom He will, and chastisethwhom He will. Allah's is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, andunto Him is the journeying.Translation : Eng-Pickthal-Audio
O people of the Scripture (Jews and
Christian
s)!
