What is the Broadband Bible?
It’s a catalog o all the major ADSL oers and deals in South Arica. It allows you to choose the one that best matches your needs, with ull con-dence that you are getting the best deal rather than the most-advertised deal. The Broadband Bible is released monthly, updated with the latest oerings, prices, and specials rom broadband ISPs.We are completely independent and unbiased in the way we rank and portray the ADSL oers. ISPs do not pay us to be listed, although there areoptional ees or certain eatures or those ISPs who want to oer more inormation to the readers. This does not aect the Top 10 lists in any way. The Broadband Bible is ree to download and distribute.Note: This is the rst public edition, so please treat it as a beta release. We welcome comments and criticisms at ino@thebroadbandbible.co.za.

How to get connected?
Step :
Use The Broadband Bible to choose the line speed, ISP, and package that suits your needs.
Step :
I your package does not include an ADSL line, and you do not already have one , you need to have one installed. An ADSL line is an up-grade to a regular land line, so you need to get one o those rst. Then upgrade to an ADSL line o the right speed. Go to https://secure1.telkom.co.za/edsl/edsl or call 10215.
Step :
I your ISP does not provide you with an ADSL router, you will need to buy one.
Step 4:
Sign up or the ISP package o your choice. Please be sure to tell the ISP you ound them in The Broadband Bible!

Glossary
Broadband 
Loosely used to describe high-speed, always-on Internet access, generally 384kbps or aster .
 ADSL
(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) A method or moving data at high speeds over normal phone lines. An ADSL circuit is much asterthan a dial-up phone connection, and the wires coming into the subscriber’s premises are the same (copper) wires used or regular phone serv-ice.
ISP 
(Internet Service Provider) A company that oers its customers access to the Internet, charging either a monthly ee or a per-gigabyte ee orboth.
Shaped 
I internet access is shaped, some packets o data are delayed by the ISP so that other (more important) packets o data can get through
