The First Poem
the first poem is the hardestthe moment before the plungethe delicious uncertaintyI have never woken upbeside you sleepingthough god I want tothat the aftermath of these momentsI asked the conquesting starshow they entice the shy planets to dancea mute and silent responseso dance with me until the timid light fades awayuntil the forever night swallows upthe tender sighs of the stumbling day

Moonlight Dreams
tell me what the moonlight dreams

what it cares for

and who it longs to embrace

I see now its shimmering

liquid reflection

does the moon think

and does the wind breathe

a plaintive sigh?

will you sing me

the songs the

coupled angels sing

I will bring you

dandelions and clovers

and a bird with a broken wing

let the sea dry up

let the forests burn
