Revisiting our Priorities
2009 Priorities were reviewed for the purposes of “keeping us ontrack”; Barbara, Gary and Nancy will begin work on revising ourManagement Plan before the next meeting.
Stewardship Committee
Gary & Tom will be installing a culvert along Joel’s Trail; Gary hasmeasured thespaces at the cabin for installing a display; a hike for anyone interestedwill be set in September to explore the upper corner of the Davis Land,and possibly flaga perspective trail; may GPS this trail so that it can be included on thenew map/brochure that is being planned for next hiking season.It was voted to allocate up to $350 from FOWM Fund for a new heavy-duty string trimmer for trail maintenance. Gary will purchase & bringreceipt to next meeting.
Conservation Fund Committee

Bethanne is checking into the possibility of a booth at Made in VT on9/12;Cons. Fund Committee will have a fritter booth at LEAF on 10/12VHCB has awarded BCC a feasibility grant to pay for ½ of an appraisalon 65 acres abutting WM; this means that VHCB sees this as a viable
 
project; landowner still has not signed and sent back the Letter of Intent,which is required before proceeding.
Compost/Education Committee
Nancy has been contacted by OHS Student Dylan Parkin, who wants tohave OHS actively participate in the Compost Project this year. A meetingwithPrincipal Brown will take place tomorrow. It was voted to allocate up to$500 from the Compost budget to facilitate composting/recycling/ studentinvolvementat OHS. This could include stipend for facilitator; field trip to CookevilleCompost, signage, containers, etc.A discussion took place of the possibility of linking the 9/25 showing of the film “Garbage” to Oxbow students or to holding the public showing atOxbow.Kate Burleson’s Nature Awareness Class is scheduled for Aug 20

at 9am, meeting at the DD parking area. Posters are up; it’s posted on ourwebsite andFacebook page; Barbara is putting on the Bradford Listserve; Bradfordlibrary hasFlyers to give out, and has agreed to be the contact for reservations forthis.
Energy Committee
A $1,250 grant has been received from NE Grass Roots Env. Fund anda $1,500 grant has been received from the Byrne Foundation. Sub-Committees have been formed to take on specific tasks. Next meeting onWednesday, 9/26.
Reusable Bags/Recycling Tires
Barbara brought a sample coupon to give out to up to 58 Bradfordresidents atLEAF for 4 tires to be recycled at the depot for ½ price. It was voted tohaveFletcher Printing print the coupons, payable from the BCC BudgetBarbara showed a sample reusable bag on which to have printed “IShop Locally” and to be given out at LEAF. Gary suggested finding asponsor for the bag; Barbara will ask Copeland Furniture. She’ll havemore info at the next meeting.
Tree Grant Update
It is not know whether the final inspection by Dave Wilcox has takenplace. Once that occurs, the Urban & Community Forestry Program willsend BCCthe second ½ of the grant.
