Thirst Theater is back and even
thirstier
! After two months of countless meetings, readings, and heatedpleadings the Thirst Committee Members (Tracey Maloney, Chris Carlson, Philip Callen, AmyMcDonald, Tom Poole and Lily Shaw) have assembled a line-up of raw, in-your-face world premiereplaylets by notable Minnesota playwrights and featuring some of the Twin Cities’ most recognizableactors. These 28 actors will swing punches, shed tears, and spread a modicum of cheer in the relaxed andcasual setting of
Joe’s Garage
, revisiting the tradition of Thirst’s motto “Drink Theater.” With thesupport of local
Surly Brewing Company
, Thirst offers Surly beer specials coupled with world premiereproductions.Returning to Joe’s Garage after a two-year hiatus the Monday night line-up will consist of five out of thetwelve 10-15 minute playlets separated by libations and conversation. Playlet descriptions, photos, actorand playwright biographies and a performance schedule will be available on ThirstTheater.com onJanuary 15, 2010.ABOUT THIRST THEATEREstablished in 2004 under the leadership of co-directors Alan Berks, Chris Carlson and Tracey Maloney,Thirst Theater created an environment where Twin Cities Equity Actors test, challenge, and stretch theircraft through new, uncensored, unrefined, and exceptionally spontaneous scripts by professionalplaywrights. Thirst created a place for new audiences to find joy and transcendence in live theater byengaging with artists at play, as well as a place for artists and audiences to enjoy themselves in anenvironment where they may be, naturally, at ease…a bar.
