Chapter 4
Kazume explained to us about how they both left Edwards mother, while she
wasn’t looking, to take a break. And as they were walking they heard this weird
sound out of nowhere, and when they looked at the bushes, there was these
glowing red eyes glaring at them. Next thing he knew she was off running, and he
couldn’t catch up with her. So we decided to go searching for her, and after a while
I finally convinced Edward to let me go alone.
Too bad I realized at the last minute how dark it was getting, and the rain was
definitely not going to go away. I was walking for 10 min. and Kako was nowhere
in sight. The wind began to pick up, and I saw the leaves of a Sakura Tree circling
around me with the wind. As I turned around I saw it standing there beautiful as I
had always imagined (since I wasn’t outside much growing up, I could only look at
them online (if you don’t understand then read chap.1). But something wasn’t
right, it was beautiful, but I was starting to feel like something really bad was
going to happen. I need to find Kako. Watching the leaves circle around me, and
leading towards the tree, I decided to follow it. Every time I got close to the tree I
felt a sense of security, like I was safe there. As I walked to it I felt the rain slowly
stopping at it’s on pace. From there I sat underneath the tree, using its tall roots to
relax my arms. Closing my eyes I slowly took in the peaceful atmosphere, and
watched as the pink leaves entertained me, as they swirled around making different
shapes. All the sudden I realized they were spelling out something.
“Move” I muttered, reading the message, I decided not to argue (I mean argue with
what, a leaf?) and I moved just as it said. An as soon as I did I heard a tree limb
crack, and Kako came falling down landing on her butt.
“Kako?!” I yelled, crouching near her, she looked terrified but when she saw it was
me her eyes turned back to normal and she attacked me with a hug.
“Where were you? Do you know how long I’ve been looking for you; Edward and
Kazume are gone too.”
“Sorry I didn’t mean to run off so fast, I was scared that’s all... Oh wait Kazume’s
ok, that’s good.”
“Unhu, I heard about the little monster in the bushes, I’m surprised you’d even
remembered him, running so fast.” I said. She blushed with embarrassment.
“I told you it was adrenaline’s fault, I wasn’t thinking. You should’ve been there
those eyes were scary I wasn’t gonna stay there, shoot you crazy. Plus Trunks is
strong, whatever it was I’m sure he could’ve handled it…but he’s not mad at me…
right?”
“Mmhmhm” I shook my head, “Outta be ashamed, he should be mad at you but
instead all he was worried about was if you were alright. While all you cared about
was saving that big butt of yours.”
“ADRINALINE! ADRINALINE! ADRINALINE! IT’S ALL ADRINALINE’S
FAULT, BE MAD AT IT NOT ME!” She yelled. Laughing so hard to where I
almost chocked, I tried to say something, but the next thing I know a leaf flew in
my eye. (Ugh. It was like when I was a little girl, swinging my hair with a beret in
it, I always ended up popping myself in the eye…not fun) I laid the pink leaf in my
hand and it flew in the wind with the rest of the leaves. They were sending me
another message, this is almost too creepy, and I guess Kako was feeling the same
way.
“Those leaves are starting to freak me out; since there’s nothing there maybe we
can stop it.”
“No! Don’t their trying to tell us something.” I said putting my arm in front of her
to stop her. She looked at me like I was a monster myself.
“What do you mean by their...Akira-Ssshh just look.” I interrupted. We looked,
and I was able to make out the words, while Kako stood there looking confused ( I
really wanted to give her a hug that time, sometimes Kako makes the most
adorable facial expressions. Sometimes she looked like a fourth grader…ha-ha a
fourth grader, with assets.)
“Danger… Wolves…Climb…up” I mumbled.
“What?”
“Something bad is coming, we have to hurry up so start climbing that tree.” I said
quickly, and she didn’t hesitate, man I have never seen someone move that fast
before. I could feel that bad feeling again, something was coming. But it’s weird
the tree said it was wolves but aren’t Ed and Kazume’s family wolves? So what’s
the problem? I don’t know but I knew I needed to hurry up that tree.
“How did you know what they were saying?” Kako asked whispering, I guess she
knew something was up too. “They were circling all around you the whole time.”
“What no they weren’t.”
“Yeah they were, it was almost like you were talking to them.” She shivered from
the thought of it.
“Really I didn’t-
Sshh something’s coming.” She interrupted. I looked out and there they were,
wolves, tons of them surrounding us. But these wolves were different, their eyes
were red, their fur was black, and they were abnormally big for a wolf.
“I can smell them, they’re here somewhere.” To my surprise it was one of the
wolves talking. “Keep looking for them!” he yelled. I tried to get a closer look, but
the tree’s limb was in the way an I ended up falling down, feeling like an idiot.
“There she is, fresh meat.” The wolf said flashing its sharp teeth, and moving
closer to me. “Alright boys, it’s time for dinner.”
“Uh wait you don’t want to eat me, I taste horrible-“ I tripped off one of the tree
roots, and as soon as I did he attacked. I closed my eyes, and covered my head but
that didn’t even matter. When I looked up there was this big pink wall surrounding
me. Then I realize-
“The Sakura tree, it’s protecting me.” I heard the wolves cussing as they tried to
brake threw, but it was no use the wall was strong. Even Kako came down to
watch. Giving up they left us, and the scattered apart. But instead of blowing with
the wind they began to attach to me. And as they did they started to glow with
radiant colors of pink, orange, and white.
“Kako!...Akira?” Kazume said looking at me.
“Um what’s going on?” I said as they wrapped around my body.
“I don’t know, but they don’t seem dangerous, let’s just watch.” He said. And so
we did, I started to feel calm, peaceful, and happy. I glanced at Edward letting him
know that he didn’t have to worry. Slowly I started to notice that the leaves were
dissolving my clothes, and the feeling went away. I threw my hands over my body
to cover myself up.
“Close your eyes!” Kako yelled standing in front of me. The wind started to blow
hard once again, causing the leaves to circle around the tree, and I began to glow
white with the leaves. Then…it stopped. Just like that the wind stopped blowing
and leaves fell off of me.
“Kako.” I said, she moved out of my way, and gasp.
“What’s wrong?” I said freaking out. I looked down, an noticed how much I had
changed. My clothes had changed. It almost looked like the leaves formed on my
body, creating an outfit just for me. It was like a mini skirt mixed with a strapless
shirt. On my sides there were splits, it wasn’t a belt but a line had formed into a v
on my waist. It was whitish pinkish color, and at the top there were no straps but
instead it was heart shaped. There was a tattoo on my right arm, it was black and
had swirls but they stayed in a straight line all around it. When I looked at my nails
I noticed they had grown long, and at the top of my head I felt something twitch.
“Oh no…don’t tell me I have.” I reached up and sure enough I had the dog ears,
something started to rub against my back legs, and man I was praying that it wasn’t
what I thought it was.
“This is a joke right?” I said.
“Well we could pretend, and you could just never look behind you.” Kako said, we
all gave her quick look trying hard not to say anything.
I looked behind me and of course it was a tail, it was white, and long. Its silky hair
stretch all the down to my ankle, and I noticed how my hair grew longer, and had
turn into a beautiful silver color. Also there was a design of a dark blue crescent
moon attach on the left side of my hair. From my left there was a lake, I could run
to it and look at my reflection. I ran as fast as I could. Ed told them to go back and
report what happened to his mother, and that he would stay with me. So I looked at
my reflection everything else was ok, lucky for me there were no more changes.
But I was still really freaked out, I turned around and saw Ed staring at me. He
gave me that sad look that made me either turn my head or give him a hug.
“Ed what happened to me?” I said in a soft voice. I mean the new look was way
cute, I have to admit it but I was a little worried about what was happening, it’s
obvious that even they don’t consider this normal.
“Edward talk to me, you’re scaring me here, you would know more that I would
right? There’s got to be a logical explanation to this right? ” I looked at him hoping
for an answer. As soon as I took a step towards him he spoke.
“I’m sorry I really don’t know, but I don’t think it’s a bad thing. We’re engaged,
when we kiss my power is transferred to you. So maybe your slowly becoming one
of us, just…in a unique way.” He said smiling. (Guess he was trying to comfort
me.) Edward is already hot, and has gorgeous eyes, but that smile of his is so sexy
I wanted to melt.
“Ok then I won’t worry about it.” I said forgetting what I was even upset about,
and before I knew it he came over and gave me a hug. I tried to look at him but
before I could he had suddenly kissed me on my forehead. I could feel his power
flowing threw me.
“I won’t let anything bad happen to you. So you can trust me.”He whispered in my
ear.
“I already do.” I said smiling. He kissed me on my cheek, and slowly moved
towards my lips. He was going to do it again but he hesitated. And for the first time
he actually looked at me as to ask if it was ok. Of course I said yes, but after we
kissed I was so embarrassed that I had to look the other way. Then that feeling
came again, and I noticed that the Sakura tree was blowing wildly. Once again
something was wrong, but this time the feeling was way worse.
“Ed something not right.” I said. He didn’t say anything but from the look on his
face he knew something was wrong to.
“I know. Come on we need to leave. Now.” He grabbed my hand and we started
running. I noticed that we were running faster that before, all I could see from the
side was the flash of brown and green colors from the trees, then he stopped.
“Damn he’s tracking us.” He said with a serious look.
“Who- Sh!” he interrupted. Ed grabbed my arm and pulled behind a tree with his
hand over my mouth. I looked at him an saw that he was staring at something, he
looked half terrified half angry. When I looked my eyes grew huge, it was a wolf
or some kind of monster. It was huge! It was way bigger than the last wolves me
and Kako had seen, just by walking around he was at least up to the top of my
stomach. Unlike the other’s he was white, with black eyes. I stepped back closer to
Edward, and he held on to me tightly until, I stepped on a twig. It growled showing
its sharp teeth, and his eyes glowed red. Then he attacked…
