Entrepreneurship amongst the Nigerian Households or families is oftenperceived as one of the major avenues that increase the rate of economic growth, create job opportunities, reduce import of manufactured goods and decrease the trade deficits that often resultsfrom such imports.
Poverty within the Nigerian context can be described and or defined in eitherrelative or absolute terms. In the absolute Poverty is the condition in which aperson or group of persons will be unable to satisfy his or their most BASICand of course their elementary requirements of Survival in terms of food,clothing, shelter, health, transport, education, etc.Relatively defined Poverty is a comparative state of deprivation amongindividuals, groups or segment of the society.Poverty in Relative or Absolute term is indeed the major challenge facing ourNigerian Nation today by which many people suffer pronounced deprivation.This condition if not addressed can create a divide and undermine ourconfidence as a federation.
At this juncture, let me attempt to discuss briefly the number onesymbol of the Federal Government’s commitment to the fight againstpoverty. That symbol is the Program called
