GOVERNMENT GUARANTEES
Before South Africa was granted the right to host the 2010 FIFA WorldCup
TM
, national government departments provided 17 guaranteesto FIFA. Government has used these guarantees as the blueprintfor its preparations for the tournament. Since being awarded thebid, a coordinated and concentrated effort has been made by all therelevant departments to achieve these undertakings.
INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT 
The South African Government is using the event to fast-track infrastructure development in the country and to provide a catalystfor regional and continental exposure and growth.
