Your wireless phone is a radio transmitter andreceiver. It is designed and manufactured not toexceed the emission limits for exposure to radiofrequency (RF) energy set by the FederalCommunications Commission of the U.S.Government. These limits are part of comprehensive guidelines and establish permittedlevels of RF energy for the general population. Theguidelines are based on standards that weredeveloped by independent scientific organizationsthrough periodic and thorough evaluation of scientific studies.

The standards include a substantial safety margindesigned to assure the safety of all persons,regardless of age and health.The exposure standard for wireless mobile phonesemploys a unit of measurement known as theSpecific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limitset by the FCC is 1.6 W/kg.* Tests for SAR areconducted using standard operating positionsspecified by the FCC with the phone transmitting atits highest certified power level in all testedfrequency bands. Although the SAR is determined at the highestcertified power level, the actual SAR level of thephone while operating can be well below themaximum value. This is because the phone isdesigned to operate at multiple power levels so asto use only the power required to reach thenetwork. In general, the closer you are to a wireless base station antenna, the lower thepoweroutput.Before a phone model is available for sale to thepublic, it must be tested and certified to the FCCthat it does not exceed the limit established by thegovernment-adopted requirement for safeexposure. The tests are performed in positions andlocations (e.g., at the ear and worn on the body) asrequired by the FCC for each model. Body-wornmeasurements differ among phone models,depending upon availability of accessories andFCC requirements.While there may be differencesbetween the SAR levels of various phones and atvarious positions, they all meet the governmentrequirement for safe exposure.The FCC has granted an Equipment Authorizationfor this model phone with all reported SAR levelsevaluated as in compliance with the FCC RFemission guidelines.
