EarthRight International Co-Founder Receives2009 Ramon Magsaysay Award

organization, EarthRight International, was awarded theprestigious 2009 Ramon Magsaysay Award for EmergentLeadership. Ka Hsaw Wa, Co-Founder and Executive
Director of ERI received the award, also known as Asia‘s
Nobel Prize on August 31, in Manila, Philippines. Ka HsawWa, an ethnic Karen from Burma, is being recognized forhis defense of human rights, the environment, anddemocracy in Burma. 
Senior Fellow Vicky Colbert receives WISE Award
The Escuela Nueva Foundation and its Executive Director,Colombian Senior Fellow, Vicky Colbert,received one of  the six WISE Awards given by the Qatar Foundation Worldwide, in recognition of their exceptional andoutstanding achievements within the theme of pluralism ineducation. The Forum for African Investigative Reporters

 FAIR is offering investigative journalists the opportunity toapply for a grant that intends to help further their researchon a particular investigative story of their choice. Twogrants of up to Euro 4,000 each are funded by theNetherlands Institute on Southern Africa (Niza), and areintended to be used by a journalist for an investigativestory that would not otherwise be published.

2010 STARS Impact Awards

The 2010 STARS Impact Awards recognize outstandingorganizations working in the areas of children's health,education and protection. As always, Skoll is looking to provide funding and supportto social entrepreneurs who are ready to significantlyexpand their work. They must demonstrate operational,programmatic and financial sustainability with a minimumannual revenue of $1 million in developing countries and$2.5 million in developed countries. Skoll is especiallyinterested in applications from social entrepreneursworking on five critical issues which threaten the survivalof humanity

Fulbright New Century Scholars Program
