Haiti: Hope in the Midst of Tragedy
Devastated. Shocked. Confused. Numb.
These are a few words that come to mind regarding the earthquake that rocked Haiti. Our leaderswill meet tonight to discuss our church’sresponse to this great tragedy. I will share our
plan of action tomorrow.
Labeling any natural disaster as God’s judgment is nonsense. True “judgment begins withGod’s family” (1Peter4:17), not others.
Peter warned that God judges all people according to their deeds. He also disciplines and judgeshis own children in order to refine them, as Peter has explained in 1 Peter 1:6-7. This judgment purifies and strengthens believers, readying them for God’s Kingdom. Natural disasters are theresult of living in a broken world! Please pray for nation of Haiti.
“Lord, let your glory reign in the midst of this devastation.”
Here's what we'll do as a church:
1. Corporate Daniel Fast for health & healing (6am-6pm)2. Fast of Sacrifice (6pm-12am - no media)3. Corporate giving (2-3 Sundays) to be split among 2 Disaster Relief Agencies

“Fasting For Health And Healing”This information was primarily taken from the book “Fasting For Spiritual Breakthrough: AGuide to Nine Biblical Fasts” by Elmer L. Towns, published in 1996 by Regal Books, Ventura,California. Our body is designed to heal itself. When a disease enters our body from bad dietary habits or from the outside, our bodies begin to fight it. Doctors, surgery, or medicines are most oftendesigned to remove the source of the problem, but the healing is done by the body itself. Many common diseases are easily prevented with basic good nutrition and exercise habits.
