Montclair, NJ - On Monday, April 2, 2015 at 7PM, Sharron Miller, Founder/ Director of Sharron
Millers Academy for The Performing Arts (SMAPA) and USA Today Journalist Charisse Jones,
will host a fireside chat interviewing award-winning ballerina Misty Copeland at Mt. Hebron
Middle School, 173 Belleville Avenue, Montclair, NJ 07043. Hosted by Watchung Booksellers
in partnership with Sharron Millers Academy for The Performing Arts (SMAPA) the event will
feature a chat, a Q&A and close with a signing of her new book Life In Motion.
In Conversation With Misty Copeland plans to explore Mistys history-making feat as the only
African American soloist with the prestigious American Ballet Theatre, an insider s look at the
sometimes cutthroat world of professional ballet, and collaborations from Prince to Twyla Tharp.
Sharron Millers work as a professional dancer, nurturing of so many young dancers, and the
creation of a successful business in dance has prompted this opportunity. Sharron Miller and the
SMAPA team are proud to host Ms. Copeland for this awe-inspiring event.

Sharron Miller has devoted her life to dance. She attended the Juilliard School and worked with the
director of the Garden State Ballet. After completing her training, she danced as a soloist for the
Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and appeared in seven Broadway shows. Sharron also taught
at Renaissance Middle School for 13 years, where her dance and drama program for youth was
praised by the State of New Jersey. Today, as the founder of Sharron Miller's Academy for the
Performing Arts (SMAPA) she shares the skills she acquired throughout a lifetime in the arts with
students from all walks of life.
Recently Sharron Miller, sat down with Joanna Gagis, host of NJTVs Life & Living with Joanna
Gagis, to share her experiences as a Juilliard School graduate, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater
soloist and Broadway veteran, and discuss how she found her passion for dance, and how she
