Sewing Instruction

Spray baste fabric, batting and lining and quilt.

After quilting all pieces as desired use a plate or saucer to cut concave
area in pockets and edges of top front and back measuring
approximately 2 inches down from top of fabric. The corners of
front and back should should be 12 inches to match the end
panels.

You may need to trim uneven edges after quilting.

Cut binding into 2 ½ inch strips fold in half lengthwise and press.
Sew binding onto inner edge of pockets, fold over to front and sew
down. (I folded the entire binding over to give a larger trim on the
front of pocket)
Place pockets onto center of front and back layering with smallest
pocket on top.
On inside of bag fold 14x14 fabric in half and pin in place.
Cover (4) 14 inch straps with fabric and attach D ring at end of each
strip for front and back.
Sew from bottom of bag to 1½ inches above largest pocket covering
edges of both pockets and sewing them down.

Put magnet closures on bag (if desired) now through lining and
batting pieces. Cover with top fabric.

This is what the inside of bag

should look like after sewing down outer straps ,
inner pockets are green.
Next, layer end pockets, ends and fronts and backs and sew together.

Zigzag inner seams. Now it’s starting to take

shape. (Round is a shape, I see
see it every morning in
the mirror)
Bottom of bag; cut 3 inch square out of each corner.

(Sorry pix is upside down.)

Fold raw edges together and sew at 90 degree angle and zigzag edges

toward inside of bag.

Matching inside of bottom to inside of bag sew bottom to bag body.
(Seam will be on outside of bag).
Trim excess fabric and batting, leave ¼ inch seam.
Sew contrasting binding to bottom of bag, next overlap and sew
down over seam on bottom of bag (It looks like I did it just

the opposite, figures)

Next attach zipper section to top of bag

attach a tab to zipper end, make by folding a 4 inch x 2 inch piece of
fabric with raw edges folded toward the middle then folded in half
and sewn down. Fold strip in half and secure to end of bag.

Almost done. It’s time to attach the binding to the top of the bag.
Sew to inside of bag first. You can start in middle of bag and sew all
the way around, fold over end and tuck end of starting binding
inside and sew down. Fold over to front of bag and sew down.
Now make strap by wrapping strap with 2 ½ inch wide fabric and
sew down with decorative stitch. Fold end over ¼ inch and put thru
end of D ring and sew down. Then sew close to D ring to secure a
little better. Attach other end to the other D ring on same side. You

choose how long you want the straps to be.
