Pan down from the disappearing text onto the vastness of
space.
A large SPACESHIP - an old freighter class - tears through
the spaceways. A much smaller, sleeker SPACESHIP leaves from
the freighters shuttle bay.
The spaceship heads towards a planet.
As the spaceship descends into the planets atmosphere the
interior is shown.
On screen:
PLANET STRAYUS
It is a class C planet. Non-industrial, an agricultural
world. Onto a large city and pan/screen wipe to smaller
settlements. Onto a few buildings and a farm.
This is the home of LUKE SKYWALKER, the last Jedi in the
galaxy.

EXT. STRAYUS TOWN MARKET - DAY

Busy market full of patrons. Astromech droids work at the
stalls. Luke Skywalker is buying food.
Luke has a beard, unkempt hair. He is older with the
experiences of a full life etched on his face. Clothing is
functional looking. He carries a weathered looking rucksack.
Luke chatting with market traders. Dialogue not heard. Luke
smiles and appears in good mood. He buys fruit and meat. He
places them in the rucksack.
FARM
Luke returning to his farm. A small BOY (age ten) stands at
the entrance.
LUKE
Here... I bought these.
He opens his hands to reveal some fruit.
LUKE (CONTD)
Take some.
The boy takes the fruit. Has a bite.
BOY
Mmm, delicious. Any more?
LUKE
Some other time. Got work to do.
BOY
Its true, isnt it? What they say.
That youre a Jedi.
LUKE
Theyre long gone, kid.
Luke pats the boy on the shoulder to signal a friendly
goodbye.
Luke walking towards home. Boy watches him.
INT. LUKE SKYWALKERS HOME - DAY
Luke in his home - a modest dwelling.
Luke places food in a storage container. He walks into
LIVING ROOM
His lightsaber rests in a cabinet.
Luke walks over to
WINDOWS

Luke looks out onto the horizon. Memories flood back into
Luke's mind. Voices from the past. HAN, LEIA, YODAs wise
mentoring. We hear the characters dialogue.
EXT. STRAYUS TOWN - DAY
Spaceship (seen previously) landing on the outskirts of the
main town.
A ramp extends from the spaceship and three sinister looking
MEN exit on their speeder bikes. Their clothing, weaponry and
demeanor indicate their evil intent. They are ruthless
CRIMINALS.
Two assassin class DROIDS also ride speeder bikes.
The droids are tracking Luke's location with heat signature
devices. The men and droids speed away heading towards Luke's
farm.
EXT. FARM FIELDS - DAY
Luke using a hov-tractor to plow the fields.
STRAYUS TOWN
The criminals ride through the market and narrow residential
streets. Residents are taken aback by their excessive speed.
The droids tracking devices have a precise pin on Luke. The
devices emit a loud signal.
FIELDS
Luke continuing his farming.
OUTER PERIMETER OF FARM
The criminals approaching the farm and Lukes dwelling.
FIELDS
The harvested crop is filling up in the tractors collecting
bales.
FARM
The young boy sees the criminals arrive. He hides behind a
disused farm building. He watches the criminals spread out the three men take the left flank, the two droids the right.
FIELDS
Luke hears a rustle. He stops his machine. His Jedi force is
alerting him of something. He turns his head to the side but
there is nothing unusual to see.

A huge explosion rocks the side of the tractor. The machine

veers to the right and turns over.
Slightly dazed, Luke climbs out and sees the riders fast
approaching.
The leading rider (RIDER#3) fires a plasma trap out of the
front section of his speeder bike. The trap is a net-like
force field.
The trap hurtles through the sky and lands on Luke. It traps
him, pinning him to the ground. Luke screams in anger. He
punches the plasma trap open. He staggers to his feet.
The droids charge forward.
Luke leaps into battle and fights them with his fists. He
punches both droids off their bikes and engages in close
combat. Their droid arms and hands move at super fast speed
but Lukes reflexes are up to the task.
The fight is swift and brutal but Luke overcomes the two
droids.
The criminals open fire with their speeder guns. Luke runs
through the fields. Crop is destroyed.
The criminals circle around Luke.
LEADER OF CRIMINALS
You think you can beat us, old
Jedi?
Luke concentrates. He uses all of his Jedi mind power.
LUKES HOME
The lightsaber moves in the cabinet. The cabinet opens. The
lightsaber travels through the air, through the window,
breaking the glass pane.
The weapon glides through the fields and into Lukes hand.
FIELDS
Luke scans for his prey. His force sense is alert as ever.
The criminals press forward. Luke raises his lightsaber. The
blade emitter is activated. He is ready.
RIDER#2 races in firing his speeder guns. Luke deflects the
blasts with his lightsaber. As the bike is about to pass by,
Luke lunges forward with his weapon. The bike is split in
half. The rider falls to the ground.
RIDER#1 continues the attack.

Luke runs straight at him. Seconds before they collide, Luke

leaps into the air and lands on the bike, just behind the
rider. Luke grabs the riders neck and hurtles him backward
off the speeder.
Luke takes control of the speeder bike. He arches the vehicle
around the crop fields. Luke points his lightsaber onto the
ground and the crop react to the fierce heat of the blade. A
trail of fire follows behind the speeder bike.
Luke lifts the lightsaber up and races towards the final
assailant - rider#3: the leader of the criminals.
Luke catches up with the last speeder bike. The rider turns
his head around realizing Luke is directly behind. He
activates a small control pad in the palm of his hand.
EXT. SPACESHIP - DAY
To cockpit interior Auto pilot mode is engaged. The ship takes off and heads for
the farm.
FIELDS
Luke opens fire with the speeders blasters. Rider#3 does his
best to swerve out of the way but Lukes accuracy is too
precise. A shot hits the speeder bike. The bike loses control
and slams into the corn.
Rider#3, cut and bruised, crawls away. He has dropped his
blaster. He starts to run towards the farm.
The boy looks on in shock.
Luke is fast approaching. Rider#3 activates the console pad
in his hand.
The ship appears above the fields a few seconds before Lukes
speeder bike has caught up with the rider.
The ship swoops down and opens fire. There is a huge
explosion. Crop explode in a ball of fire.
Luke is thrown off his bike and falls to the ground. Blood
pours from the side of his head. He looks seriously injured,
unconscious.
Rider#3 touches the console pad one last time and the ship
lands near to Luke. Rider#3 can barely walk. He staggers back
to Luke.
INSIDE SHIP

The rider drags Luke up the ships ramp, drops him on the
floor. Plasma-locks are placed on Lukes arms and legs.
Rider#3 activates the ramp and it is raised up into the ship.
SHIP COCKPIT
The rider wipes some of his blood from his uniform. He
activates the engine. The ship lifts up off the ground. It
gains height.
FARM
The boy looks up. He runs down the dusty road as the ship
soars up and away.
EXT. GALACTIC UNITY OF PLANETS - PLANET EQUITA - DAY
On screen:
PLANET EQUITA
Establishing shot of Equita. Class A planet advanced,
democratic governance.
The planet is covered by a vast ionosphere shield. A tiny
section in the western northern hemisphere - close to Unity
City, the capital - remains shield-less. Its section is
several miles in length.
EXT. UNITY CITY - DAY
An industrialized city.
EXT. UNITY CITY - GALACTIC UNITY BASE - DAY
The base covers a large area. It is surrounded by a high
defensive wall with ion and laser cannon emplacements.
The base is divided into several zones.
1) Parliament, library and other admin buildings. The
Parliament building is large. Consists of a legislative
chamber and many other administrative levels, offices,
debating halls.
2) Military command centre, hangars housing X-Wing fighters
and larger transporter and shuttle ships, several runways,
barracks, communication dishes.
3) Training academy. A small spacebay is situated close to
the academy.
4) Shield defence centre.
5) Gardens.

A wide, long roadway is the only direct land access to the

Unity base. The area around the base is skyrise blocks. Unity
City is densely populated.
INT. PARLIAMENT CHAMBER - DAY
Oval in shape. POLITICIANS from many Galactic Unity planets
sit in session.
POLITICIAN
And furthermore... if the levy on
goods to the outer rim sectors
exceeds the last financial orbit
quarter, we may need to consider a
raise in the quota of -INT. GALACTIC UNITY BASE - PRESIDENTS OFFICE - DAY
The leader of the Galactic Unity, President JONAH YIRA, sits
at his desk. Approximately fifty years old. He wears the
clothing of his political rank.
His chief security officer, Captain BRAX, stands close by.
HAN SOLO and CHEWBACCA enter.
Han looks older. He still retains the maverick quality to his
personality. His Wookiee companion hasnt changed much. His
hair is slightly thicker with a few specks of grey.
PRESIDENT YIRA
Solo.
HAN
President Yira.
They shake hands.
PRESIDENT YIRA
This is captain Brax, my chief
security officer. Brax, this is Han
Solo and his Wookiee, Chewbacca.
They acknowledge each other.
PRESIDENT YIRA(CONTD)
I thought it only right you were
the first to know.
He passes a small data file to Han. Han reads the file.
HAN
When did this happen?
PRESIDENT YIRA
Less than a week ago. Strayus law
enforcement alerted us.

Han shakes his head in disbelief.

PRESIDENT YIRA (CONTD)
Two days ago an informant on planet
Metus contacted Captain Brax.
Secure channel.
Yira activates a viewscreen. A spy satellite camera feed is
tracking the interior of the planet. Close-up images of a
high-tech city and a research facility.
Informant provided the precise
location. A research facility in
the finance zone.
HAN
Military or civilian?
PRESIDENT YIRA
Unknown, although most likely
heavily guarded. (beat) The capture
of Skywalker presents certain...
difficulties.
HAN
Difficulties?
PRESIDENT YIRA
The Galactic Unity doesnt need a
diplomatic incident with the Metus
government. We have established
trade accords with the planet.
HAN
Metus is a slave world. Corrupt.
Why should we give a damn about
them?
PRESIDENT YIRA
Maybe -- but I have to look at the
bigger picture.
HAN
Spoken like a true politician. Selfinterest always comes first, huh?
Yiras demeanor changes.
PRESIDENT YIRA
Dont be too quick to judge me,
Solo. Your past is well documented.
Smuggling isnt exactly the most
noble career path.

Chewbacca makes a snarl to suggest he doesnt like the

leader.
HAN
Its okay, Chewie.
(turns back to Yira)
Chewie here has a natural dislike
of lying politicians. I kinda know
the feeling.
Yira grimaces and moves his head away from Chewbacca. It
conveys the fact he cant stand the smell of Wookiees.
HAN (CONTD)
What do you want with me?
PRESIDENT YIRA
Covert mission. You, your Wookiee,
go in, rescue Skywalker.
HAN
Just like that?
PRESIDENT YIRA
With troop backup, of course.
Captain Brax will provide all you
need.
The security chief nods his head in agreement.
HAN
Your informant reliable?
PRESIDENT YIRA
Absolutely. You have my word.
HAN
Ive heard that before.
PRESIDENT YIRA
Whatever your thoughts about me,
Im fully aware how much Skywalker
means to you.
HAN
Weve been through a lot together.
PRESIDENT YIRA
His service to the Rebellion was
invaluable. (beat) But let me make
it perfectly clear, Solo. Skywalker
is the last of the Jedi Order.
Theres no-one else. We cant
afford to lose him.

EXT. PLANET METUS - NIGHT

Establishing shot of an advanced looking planet.
On screen:
PLANET METUS
EXT. CITY - METUS - NIGHT
The high-tech city is painted in vibrant blue hue.
Onto a research facility in a quiet industrial zone.
Facilitys compound contains land speeders. Several bulky
security droids patrol the exterior perimeter of the walled
compound.
INT. RESEARCH FACILITY - LABORATORY - NIGHT
Large size laboratory consisting of large computer desk,
medical equipment - centrifuges, electron microscopes etc.
Three glass containment chambers stand in the center of the
laboratory.
FIRST CHAMBER
Luke, unconscious, strapped down on a prison-type bed inside
chamber#1. A life support system is attached to Luke.
Various tubes are connected to his head and body. A larger
tube extends from his right side and passes through a hole in
the chamber. The tube continues into the second, middle
chamber.
TWO MEN stand close to the chambers TYRAS ZOR - an intelligent man of average build, precise age
indeterminate. He is ruthlessly single-minded and will stop
at nothing to achieve his goals. He is the leader of THE RELM
criminal organization.
IDIGO RAZE - extremely muscular. His sinister face is
obscured by a helmet. Wears protective body armor. He is the
Relms chief security officer and second-in-command.
Nearby, GLOST a small ALIEN with the power of levitation.
Military advisor and strategist. Has a cowardly disposition
but is naturally cunning.
Approximately ten MEN stand in the background. They work for
Tyras Zor. Another MAN stands close to them. He is the
criminal responsible for the capture of Luke.
ALIENS (four in number) work around the chambers. Alien#1
presses several buttons on console viewscreen. Various data
appears on screen.

ALIEN#1
Were ready to proceed, Master
Tyras Zor.
TYRAS ZOR
And Skywalker?
ALIEN#1
His injuries will have no
detrimental effect on the
procedure.
IDIGO RAZE
Is the risk worth it, Tyras?
TYRAS ZOR
All great advancement comes with
risk, Raze. Its to be expected.
THIRD CHAMBER
Zor enters the third chamber.
ALIEN#2 and #3 follow him. Zor approaches a prison-type bed.
He reclines on the bed. Alien#3 secures straps to his arms
and legs. A small round device is attached to Zors head.
Medical apparatus is next to the bed. Leads extend from the
apparatus. The alien connects the tubes to the device on
Zors head.
ALIEN#2
Make sure the connection leads
remain secure.
The two aliens leave the chamber. The chamber door closes.
ALIEN#1
Chambers fully sealed. Initiating
adaption.
The alien presses buttons on the laboratory console.
FIRST CHAMBER
Lukes containment chamber lights up with electric charge.
Lukes body heaves under the strain.
SECOND CHAMBER
The second chamber begins to light up with electric charge. A
gaseous trail enters via the tube. The gaseous trail takes
the form of a bright ethereal cloud. It is the force. It is
incredibly bright like a mini super-nova.
LABORATORY
12.
The light soaks the entire laboratory in glorious pure white.

The laboratory shifts and warps as if its place in time and
space is under threat. A kaleidoscopic phenomenon.
Zors crew look on with alarm.
ALIEN#1 (CONTD)
Partial extraction of patients
force a success. No volatile
chemical elements or mutagens
found. No containment leakage.
IDIGO RAZE
Excellent. Continue.
ALIEN#1
Re-adaption beginning.
The force passes into the third chamber via a connecting tube
on the right wall of the second chamber. The kaleidoscopic
reaction subsides.
THIRD CHAMBER
The force travels through the tube and out of the smaller
tube connected to Zors head. The chamber lights up with
electric charge. The force burns into Zors body.
INSIDE TYRAS ZORS BODY
The cells change, mutate, to adapt to the force energy. Zor
screams in pain.
LABORATORY
ALIEN#1 (CONTD)
This is expected. Cellular
reconstruction. His pain will be
temporary.
The electric charge stops. Zors pain lessens. His breathing
becomes less shallow.
ALIEN#1 (CONTD)
(checking console screen)
All life signs read normal.
Cognitive function normal. Anatomic
structure remains intact.
Alien#2 activates Zors chamber control panel. The door
opens. There is a sense of nervous expectation as everyone
waits for Zor.
He walks out of the chamber room.
IDIGO RAZE
How do you feel?
Zor touches his face.
13.
TYRAS ZOR
Reborn.
ALIEN#1
The physical transformation youve
undergone is medically
unprecedented. Youll need time to
rest, to adapt to the change.
TYRAS ZOR
It can wait. (beat) Glost, ready
the shuttle. We leave within the
hour.
The alien acknowledges the order and floats out of the
laboratory.
Zor brings his hands close together. He concentrates. A small
liquid container shakes on the console. It rises and floats
towards Zor. He manipulates its movement in graceful fashion.
It passes into his hand.
TYRAS ZOR (CONTD)
(to himself)
The power of the force.
Extraordinary.
EXT. RESEARCH FACILITY - SKY - NIGHT
A Galactic Unity SPACESHIP descending from the night sky.
INT. SPACESHIP COCKPIT - NIGHT
PILOT at the helm.
PILOT
Any closer and we risk detection.
BRAX
Maintain altitude here. Solo?
Han enters the cockpit. Brax points to the viewscreen. The
research facility is displayed.
BRAX (CONTD)
Security droids around the
perimeter. (he points to them on
the screen) They shouldnt notice
us. Prep for launch.
Han walks into the
LANDING BAY
14.
Chewbacca and a team of four Galactic Unity soldiers. Theyre

wearing rocket packs and helmets. Chewbacca is helmet-less.
Han attaches a rocket pack to his back.
Brax enters the landing bay. He gestures with his hand and
one of the soldiers operates the landing bays console panel.
The landing bay ramp opens.
BRAX (CONTD)
Metus has a thin atmosphere. Very
cold.
Brax and the others position themselves at the edge of the
ramp. Below, the city of Metus. Han puts the helmet on. He
looks at Chewbacca as if to reassure the Wookiee.
The console display light shines red.
BRAX (CONTD)
Tight formation. Follow my lead.
The console display light turns to green. Brax launches
himself out of the ship. The rest of the team follow.
EXT. METUS SKY - NIGHT
The team descending through the cloud cover.
INT. LABORATORY - NIGHT
LEADER OF CRIMINALS
The original fee we agreed, Zor.
Not enough. Skywalker took out my
team.
TYRAS ZOR
What did you expect from a Jedi
Master? You should be thankful
youre still alive to enjoy the
spoils.
Zor extends his hand. He is holding a case.
TYRAS ZOR (CONTD)
Take it or leave it.
The criminal gives a scornful look but accepts payment. He
takes the case.
TYRAS ZOR (CONTD)
Wise choice.
METUS SKY
Han and his team soar down through the high-rise blocks
towards the research facility.
15.
They land on the research facilitys roof.

RESEARCH FACILITY ROOF
Brax and Han scan the facility with their night vision
binoculars. Below, the security droids continue their nightly
vigil.
The soldiers head to the roof door entrance.
TROOPER#1 removes a small device from his uniform and
attaches it to the door.
TROOPER#1
Disassembler on.
The device starts to atomize part of the door.
LABORATORY
Raze is sitting at the computer console. Zor stands looking
over him. Computer files, folders and memory cache are being
deleted.
IDIGO RAZE
Database clean. No memory trace.
TYRAS ZOR
Good.
Several gang members are packing parts of the extraction
equipment into storage cases.
TYRAS ZOR (CONTD)
Handle those with care.
RESEARCH FACILITY ROOF
The disassembler creates a large enough hole for access. The
team enter into
INT. RESEARCH FACILITY - CORRIDOR - NIGHT
BRAX
Laboratory is level twenty two.
The team head along the corridor.
INT. ELEVATOR COMPLEX - NIGHT
A series of elevators linking all levels of the research
facility.
BRAX (CONTD)
Hold it!
16.
Brax scans the corridor with his binoculars. He zooms in

several feet up the corridor and views a CAM-DROID on
security patrol. The cam-droids head mounted motion-tracking
sensors scanning left and right.
BRAX (CONTD)
Cam-droid. On a thirty second sweep
cycle.
HAN
Thats pretty short.
(to Chewie)
You think we can make it, old
timer?
Chewbacca grunts a yes.
HAN (CONTD)
Thats the spirit!
Brax gestures with his hand. The men run forward as the camdroid moves further down the corridor. They reach the door
entrance.
BRAX
(whispering)
Not a sound.
Trooper#2 activates the elevator console. The doors open and
the men enter the elevator.
The cam-droid reaches the end of the corridor and turns
around. It is unaware of the intruders.
LABORATORY
Alien#3 has unlocked Lukes straps. Alien#4 checks Lukes
life signs.
A glass tube container - able to accommodate an adult human is brought forward.
The alien speaks to the other in its native language.
ALIEN
(subtitles )
Transfer the patient.
ELEVATOR
The elevator descends to the twenty second level.
LABORATORY
On the console desk, alien#1 viewing a detailed computer
rendered image of Zors body.

ALIEN#1
Our readings indicate the force is
strong within you, Master Zor.
Zor draws the alien closer by use of his hand. The alien
lurches forward. Zors face and words convey intimidation TYRAS ZOR
And what else do you sense within
me? The calling of the Jedi way or
the dark side?
ALIEN#1
My race is not endowed with
humanoid emotions like fear.
TYRAS ZOR
Then youre most fortunate.
Zor flicks his hand and the alien flinches back. It is no
longer under Zors control.
Zor activates a viewscreen. On display: a dark room. Several
men sitting around a table. Their faces are shrouded in
shadow.
TYRAS ZOR (CONTD)
The extraction is a success. The
results... enlightening.
SHROUDED MAN
Skywalker should be executed as
soon as possible. Hand him over to
us and we can proceed to the next
stage of our agreement.
TYRAS ZOR
I will deal with the Jedi. Hes not
your concern. Well meet on Tero in
four standard galactic days.
Zor ends the communication.
IDIGO RAZE
Why keep Skywalker? Hes of little
use now. Itll be a great honor if
I kill the last of the Jedi.
TYRAS ZOR
No, temper your enthusiasm, Raze.
Well take him with us. On the open
market hes worth more alive than
dead.
ENTRANCE TO LABORATORY
18.
Two guards stand at the entrance. Han and Brax scan their
vision binoculars through two large glass doors into the
interior. Images of the targets light up on their binoculars
view screens.
BRAX
Target confirmed. Its Skywalker.
Brax points at the two guards. Trooper#1 fires silencer blast
rounds at the guards. They slump to the ground.
TROOPER#2 holds two gas grenades. Brax activates the doors
console. The doors open and the grenades are thrown into the
laboratory. There is a huge explosion of smoke.
LABORATORY
Brax launches the offensive.
BRAX (CONTD)
This is the Galactic Unity!
Surrender!
Zors men ignore the warning and open fire. Han and his team
drop behind medical equipment.
HAN
(with sarcasm)
Effective speech!
Zors men continue blasting.
HAN (CONTD)
Me, I prefer the diplomacy of a
loaded blaster!
Han stands and opens fire. A chaotic blaster exchange ensues.
Zor grabs the container containing the extraction equipment.
He activates his wrist communicator. Glosts holographic
image appears.
TYRAS ZOR
Glost, were leaving now!
(referring to ship) Get her ready!
Amid the confusion of the smoke and blaster exchange, the
alien scientists flee. One of the aliens knocks the glass
tube containing Luke. The glass tube moves across the room
into Hans line of vision.
HAN
Luke!
Han tries to make a move towards the glass tube but the
enemys fire forces him back.
HAN (CONTD)
Chewie! I can do with some assist!
19.
Chewbacca opens fire. His blaster sprays the laboratory with

fire. He takes out three or four men.
The leader of the criminals (responsible for Lukes capture)
fires at the soldiers. He makes for the laboratorys door but
is cut down by blaster fire.
Zors men provide covering fire allowing Zor and Raze to
escape via the rear exit.
Unity soldiers take out the remaining members of Zors team.
HAN (CONTD)
Brax, secure the area!
Han and Chewbacca give chase.
RESEARCH FACILITY CORRIDORS
Han and Chewbacca chase Zor and Raze down the corridors of
the facility. The two men return blaster fire. Han and Chewie
duck to avoid the blasts.
HAN (CONTD)
Just like old times, eh, Chewie!
The Wookiee responds in his inimitable way.
INT. SHUTTLE BAY - RESEARCH FACILITY - NIGHT
TYRAS ZORS SPACESHIP - COCKPIT
Glost moving the spaceship - a small starfighter - along the
narrow platform in readiness for launch.
CORRIDORS
Zor and Raze running to the shuttle bay. Han and Chewbacca
following. Han activates his wrist communicator HAN (CONTD)
Solo to pilot. Target escaping via
shuttle bay! Cut em off!

Zor and Raze run to the starfighter. The ships access ramp
is lowered. Han and Chewbacca appear from the corridor.

Zor and Raze open fire as they race to the ramp. Zor heads
into the starfighter. Raze holds position at the ramp. He
continues firing.
Han and Chewie use some storage containers as temporary
cover.
Raze stops firing. He goes into a meditative pose. His body
duplicates itself. Two versions of Idigo Raze fire their
weapons.
The sound of the starfighter about to rise makes Raze forgo
dispensing his weapons. He submits a devilish smile and remerges together as one person.
He runs up the starfighters ramp.
Han and Chewbacca race forward, blasters unleashed. Two Unity
soldiers arrive and open fire. The Unity spaceship appears
from above and fires on Zors ship.
ZORS STARFIGHTER
GLOST
Jumping to hyperspace.
Glost engages its hyperspace function.
The starfighter powers away into the darkness of the galaxy.
LABORATORY
Brax and his men at the console.
TROOPER#1
Comm system destroyed, sir.
BRAX
No way to track them now.
Han is holding Luke in his arms.
HAN
Its okay, Luke, I got you. Just
hold on. Youre going to be fine.
Han places Lukes head in his hands. Lukes face is ashen.

A desk and chairs surround a large holographic display. On

display - the full galactic Unity sector of space, its
planets, outposts, mining and other commercial interests.
The high command consists of the President and three members
of his executive. These MEN are called ASSIGNERS.
Assigner of Defense - ROSLEN
Assigner of Finance - DARNELL
Assigner of Homeland and Galactic Affairs - GAROD
The meeting is in session. Luke Skywalker in attendance,
sitting. Han and Chewbacca stand.
A MEDICAL DROID is attending to Luke. Luke has a cut to his
face but little else to suggest the hardship of his recent
ordeal.
PRESIDENT YIRA
I speak for everyone here when I
say how pleased we are for your
safe return, Luke.
Yira shakes Lukes hand.
LUKE
Im grateful for your help, sir.
Luke looks at Han. Luke smiles. Han nods his head slightly to
acknowledge Luke.
MEDICAL DROID
Master Skywalker has made a
remarkable recovery. Cauterized
areas of the body healed with
minimal tissue scarring. I
prescribed a treatment of adrenal
stimulants to maintain energy,
muscular fibre and counter fatigue.
These must be taken every six
hours.
The droid leaves the room.
BRAX
A search of the laboratory on Metus
revealed no information. Files
connected to the perpetrators gone
or erased. Aliens working for them
fled.
PRESIDENT YIRA
Luke, did you recognize your
captors?

gangs working for the Hutt cartels.

What about pro-Sith extremists from
outside the Unity?

The Sith are dead. They have no

to extract the force from a Jedi.

A well-tended garden with holographic water fountain. Luke is
sitting on an antigrav-bench. Han approaches.

Luke puts his hand out to gesture Han to sit. Han sits next
to Luke.

INT. GALACTIC UNITY BASE - STORAGE WAREHOUSE - DAY
Luke and a Unity GUARD walking through a vast warehouse full
of droids and antiquities from the time of the Empire.
GUARD
After the fall of the Empire a lot
of old droids were sent to scrap
mines. Others ended up here.
LUKE
Couldnt they have been sold on to
new owners?
GUARD
Little demand. When the Unity was
constituted, new droids were
commissioned for service.
The guard stops at a door.
GUARD (CONTD)
Astromech droids.
The guard accesses the door with his pass-card.
WAREHOUSE - SMALLER STORAGE ROOM
Hundreds of astromech droids placed in rows. Luke and the
guard walk past several rows. The guard stops, checks his
warehouse manifest.
GUARD (CONTD)
I believe these are yours.
Covered in layers of dust, the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO.
GUARD (CONTD)
Theyve been shut down for thirty
years.
Lukes face denotes surprise. The guard walks away.
LUKE
(to the droids)
How did you get like this?

He brushes dust off their casing. Luke reactivates the

droids. The sound of motors firing and their CPUs coming back
online.
C-3PO
I appear to have had the longest
sleep I can remember.
R2-D2 bleeps a reply.
C-3PO (CONTD)
Yes. I know droids dont sleep. I
was speaking metaphorically.
R2-D2 bleeps a further reply.
C-3PO (CONTD)
What are we doing here? That is a
good question, R-2. We appear to be
in the droid afterlife. Strange. I
thought it would have been less
crowded.
R2-D2 speaks.
C-3PO (CONTD)
If we are in the droid afterlife
then what is master Luke doing
here? Dont be ridiculous, R-2. Of

Luke wipes some grime off C-3P0s eye sensors.

My optic sensors must be deceiving

R2-D2 wobbles with excitement. Luke gives a broad smile.
LUKE

EXT. GALACTIC UNITY BASE - DATABASE ROOM - DAY
Han and Brax scanning the computer database. C-3PO is by
their side. Han scans endless mug shots and file reports.
HAN
Its gonna be a long shot if we get
lucky.
C-3PO
Sir, the Galactic Unity criminal
database has approximately two
million entries.

HAN

into rival factions. One faction
were recently captured selling
illegal salvage on Tatooine.
HAN

They turned informer. Hoped they
could cut a deal with the Unity.
They came up with a name.
Brax scans the files. A face comes up. It is Tyras Zor. He is
much younger and bears little similarity to his older self.

Tyras Zor. I remember him. Has all
the charm of a womp rat. Didnt he
once work for the Hutt?
BRAX
For a while. He double-crossed on a
deal. Jabba put a price on his
head.
HAN
That figures.
BRAX
The faction claim he was planning a
major crime on Metus. It was around
the time of Lukes capture.
HAN
Zor was a freelancer. Small-time.
He wouldnt have the resources to
pull off a job like that.
BRAX
We shouldnt rule out anything.
Han looks at the image of Tyras Zor.
Slow pan onto Zors face.
EXT. GALACTIC UNITY BASE - DAY
A squadron of four X-Wing starfighters arriving at the base.
The leading ship in the formation is the advanced wing
starfighter: the A-Wing.
The fuselage has distinctive black stripes. The A-Wing has a
dipped nose and two fully retractable s-foil wings for
enhanced flight capability in confined locations.
LEIA ORGANA SOLO is piloting the A-Wing. The fighters land on
the runway. Leia disembarks. To PILOT LEIA

Yes, Major Organa.
Leia walks towards the Parliament building. She removes her
helmet to reveal short hair. Her features have matured with
the passing years.

A large reception area resplendent in brass furnishing.
Standing, Han and Chewbacca.

Empire.
Han tries his best to hide his reaction.
LEIA (CONTD)

or did your smuggling antics
finally catch up with you?
HAN
Smuggling? Dont know what you
mean. Im an honest trader. Buying
and selling reputable goods.
LEIA
Only reputable thing you ever sold,
Han Solo, was Bantha droppings.
HAN

Establishing shot of Borayla. It is a class B planet. Medium
level technology. Industries include agriculture,
manufacturing and finance.
Onto city of ARVALE - bustling with life and commerce.
Onto EXT. BORAYLA - ARVALE CITY - UNIVERSITY - DAY
A WOMAN in her early twenties leaving the main entrance with
her university friends, three young women. Her name is MIYA
BORAY. Shes dressed in casual clothes. She carries a small
bag.
A MAN rides along the boulevard on his swoop speeder bike.
The speeder bike is similar to Republic-era pod racers but
more compact. A two seater. The man is age early thirties,
looks slightly younger. Wears casual clothing.
His name is JAYON LARS. He stops at the entrance to the
university.
JAYON
Fancy a ride?

MIYA
Hey, hes mine. Find your own
boyfriend!
Miya steps in front of her friend and gives Jayon a quick
kiss. Miya climbs on the bike.
JAYON

MIYA

Jayon revs the swoops engine. The speeder bike accelerates
down the boulevard.
EXT. BORAYLA - ARVALE SUBURBS - DAY
Residential district. Houses of modest size. Beyond the
houses, farmland and open countryside.
Miya and Jayon dismount the speeder bike. Miya takes in the
view.
MIYA
Its beautiful at this time of the
day.
JAYON
I guess.
MIYA
You were never the romantic type,
Jayon.
JAYON
Hey, if its romance you want I can
oblige -Jayon gives Miya a brief kiss.
MIYA

They see a MAN standing in a workshop. The workshop is a

converted garage and stores speeder bikes. An old-series
model astromech droid is working on a bike.
The man is age approximately sixty. Hes wearing a dirty
overall.
Jayon kisses Miya again.
MIYA
You did that on purpose. Just to
annoy him.
JAYON
Guilty as charged.
The man, called GABE BORAY, looks a bit uncomfortable.
GABE
If you can tear yourself away from
my daughter, the power generator on
the 70-C bike needs replacing.
JAYON
He who must be obeyed wants me.
MIYA
Hes not that bad.
JAYON
Yep, a slave driver with a winning
smile.
MIYA
Stop it, you tease! Ive seen the
way Gabe looks at you. You two get
on really well. Youre like the son
he never had.
Jayons demeanor changes.
MIYA (CONTD)
Oh, Im sorry, I didnt mean to. I

Gabe calls out GABE

I gotta go.
Jayon walks into the workshop.
GABE

Gabe points to a semi-dismantled speeder bike. Jayon starts

to unscrew the power generator.
INT. GALACTIC UNITY BASE - HOLODECK - DAY
Luke is fighting two holographically projected droids. They
use holographic lightsabers. Luke ducks and weaves with his
lightsaber. He lunges at the first droid. It is eliminated
from the contest.
The other droid is harder to dispatch. It anticipates Lukes
movements and predicts the optimum moment to counterattack.
It strikes Luke on his left arm.
Luke deactivates the simulation.
C-3PO
A most impressive display, master
Luke.
LUKE
You dont need to lie, 3P0.
C-3PO
Protocol droids are incapable of
falsehood. Our programming prevents
it.
LUKE
My speed is too slow. My awareness,
my understanding of the force, its
not the same anymore.
C-3PO
Master Luke, you were a great Jedi
Knight. There is no reason to think
you cannot be one again.
LUKE
Thank you.
R2 chips in with support.
LUKE (CONTD)
And you too, R2.
C-3PO
Please continue.
Luke reactivates the simulation. He resumes battle with two
new droids. He takes out the first with a series of deft
moves.
The second droid anticipates Lukes movement. It strikes at
Luke. Luke senses the move and leaps up into the air,
somersaults behind the droid, and executes a winning lunge.
The droid is defeated.

INT. GALACTIC UNITY BASE - TARGET RANGE - DAY

Several holographic targets positioned at the end of the
range.
C-3PO
Master Luke, have you considered
President Yiras offer of helping
at the Jedi academy?
LUKE
Ill think about it.
Luke takes a blaster out of a cabinet.
LUKE (CONTD)
Havent used one of these in years.
He aims the blaster at the target. Fires the zero charge
blaster round. He misses the bulls-eye. Luke displays his
disappointment.
C-3PO
I am sure your services would be
invaluable to the Unity.
LUKE
Things change, 3PO. People change.
Luke takes a second aim. He fires. Misses again.
LEIA
You were always better with a
lightsaber.
Luke turns around to see Leia standing behind.
LUKE
Leia!
LEIA
Luke.
Luke puts the blaster down. He gives Leia a warm hug.
LUKE
Its so good to see you!
LEIA
You too. I cant believe its been
so long.
LUKE
(affectionately)
Youre making me sound old.
Luke looks at Leia. He checks out her military uniform.

Wow, look at you. Major Organa?
LEIA
Han always thought Id look good in
a uniform. Guess he got his way.
LUKE
He did mention your marriage. Was
kind of vague.
LEIA
We drifted apart. Wasnt meant to
be. The Unity needed new people. I
obliged. (beat) So... how you been
keeping?
LUKE
To myself, mostly. The Jedi way
isnt that conducive to
relationships.
LEIA
If thats what you want.
LUKE
You meet anyone else?
LEIA
No, not since Han. Yira told me
about what happened on Strayus. Are
you okay?
LUKE
Yeah, yeah, its fine now.
LEIA
You sure? Really?
LUKE

LEIA

Jayon and Miya sitting on a grass verge. Behind them, a fence
separating the open countryside from the houses.

JAYON

MIYA
I didnt mean to suggest Gabe was
like your real father.
JAYON
Not much of a comparison. My father
wasnt an engineer.
MIYA

commercial droid upgrades. Owners
want to accessorize. I hope to
market them after graduation.

your father hasnt replaced me with
a droid. Just think of all the
credits hed save if he didnt have
to pay me for my work.
MIYA
But think how dull itd be if he
didnt have someone like you to

JAYON

They kiss. They lie back on the grass. They look up into the
beautiful blue and orange colored sky.

Miya gives Jayon a gentle affectionate prod to say she
disapproves of his teasing.
MIYA

The sky begins to lose brightness as if thunder clouds are
approaching but the sky is cloud-less. Jayon sits upright and
looks to the sky.
JAYON
Thats strange. Ive never seen -MIYA
(singing)
Lighting my way, always so true.
The sky is getting darker. A deep pitch engine sound is
rising. Jayon stands.
MIYA (CONTD)
(singing)
JAYON
Oh no -A large armada of spaceships is approaching. It is the Relm.
Their design is markedly different to former Imperial
spaceships. The Relm spaceships are circular in design.
The spaceships are divided into three standard types 1) Largest size attack class spaceships. Weapons - ion and
laser cannons for larger targets.

Smaller gun turrets for closer range targets. Defensive

shields for the command centre and engine section.
2) Mid-size explorer class spaceships. Weapons - ion and
laser cannons. Smaller gun turrets for closer range targets.
Weapons not as powerful as attack class spaceships. Limited
shield capacity.
3) Small starfighter class spaceships. Weapons as explorer
class. Reduced firepower than the other ships but faster
maneuverability. No shield capacity.
INT. Relm ATTACK CLASS SPACESHIP -
DAY
COMMAND BRIDGE
Two Relm COMMANDERS at the controls. The Relm wear light
color military clothing. The letter R in muted white, small
in size, etched on their jacket.
RELM COMMANDER#1
Take out all spaceports.
Commander#2 activates his cockpit screen. A detailed list and
map of Borayla spaceports is displayed.
RELM COMMANDER#2
Targeting. Units deployed.
Relm starfighters split away from the larger spaceships. They
swoop to lower altitude and open fire on Boraylas main
spaceports.
Spaceport#1 takes a direct hit to key targets - hangars,
runways, the command tower. The entire spaceport is
destroyed.
Spaceport#2 is attacked. The spaceports ground-to-air
defenses are launched. Ground-to-air missiles target the Relm
starfighters. A small number of fighters are hit and explode.
Borayla soldiers appear on the runways and try to launch
their starfighters but the attack is too sudden. The entire
squadron is destroyed.
Spaceport#3 is attacked. Relm starfighters target the main
communication tower and runways. Borayla starfighters are
swift to respond and launch into the sky.
A full air battle commences.
41.
INT. BORAYLA SPACEPORT#3 - COMMAND TOWER - CONTROL CENTRE DAY

The control centre monitoring all flights in that region.
Banks of viewscreens. A communicator device is attached to
the ear of the command towers CONTROLLER.
CONTROLLER
Borayla high command, come in!
Borayla high command, were under
attack!
Air raid sirens are wailing throughout the city. Relm
starfighters swoop across the houses.
JAYON
We gotta go, now!
Jayon and Miya run up the verge and head towards the
workshop. Gabe runs out to greet them. He looks up into the
sky and sees the starfighters.
GABE
(shocked)
By the holy stars...!
Jayon approaches the workshop.
GABE (CONTD)
Dont worry about that! Leave your
equipment here. Ill lock up. Go to
Elaine. Tell her to pack food and
water.
JAYON
But what about you?
GABE
Ill catch up! Go! Now!
Miya hugs her father.
GABE (CONTD)
Jayon will look after you. Ill
join you soon. I promise.
Jayon starts his bike speeder. Miya gets on. They leave the
workshop.
Gabe hurries back inside.
ARVALE STREETS
We follow Jayon and Miya on the speeder bike as they race
towards the main city square.

Air raid sirens continue to blast out. Huge plasma screens

show a pre-recorded vid message read by a newsreader.
NEWSREADER
Please remain in your homes. Secure
your homes. If you have blast
shelters, use them. Homeland
security is dealing with the
current situation.
The message is on a continuous loop.
There is pandemonium in the streets. Borayla citizens fleeing
to their homes. The sound of air battles above them.
EXT. SPACE - TERO - NIGHT
Tero is a large man-made asteroid. The asteroids base

A vast city square. Expansive avenues run along the square.
Large trees adorn the avenues. Beyond the square, a network
of smaller roadways.
Borayla soldiers are trying to preserve order but its a
hopeless task. Speeders and land shuttles cannot pass through
the square.

Its a full scale invasion! Theres

Relm soldiers appear on the roadways. The soldiers wear

helmets and full body protection. Their dark color uniforms
have a futuristic para-military design.

shuttles, road signs and walls. The citizens sense impending

The battle for the square begins.
The crowd break into mass panic. Citizens run for their lives
as the square is rocked by blaster fire. Casualties are high
on both sides but the Relm soldiers are greater in number.

The Borayla soldiers are forced further down the square.
MIYA
We have to reach my mother!
Jayons speeder bike is in the line of fire. Jayon and Miya
cower as blast beams shoot past. Jayon swings the speeder
bike around in the opposite direction.
JAYON
Hold on!
Jayons speeder bike is racing down a series of roadways.
Hundreds of people are fleeing from the square.
Further Relm soldiers are taking to the streets of the city.
Smaller-scale gun battles are taking place between brave
Borayla citizens and Relm soldiers.
Boraylans are evacuating their homes. Large emergency
service carrier speeders assisting in the evacuation.
Relm tanks are patrolling the streets. The tanks have front
laser shields. Borayla soldiers open fire on the land tanks.
The front shields absorb much of the impact.

The Borayla soldiers retarget their aim onto the sides of the
tanks. The tanks take some damage.

The tanks swerve to the side and face the Borayla soldiers
full on. The tanks fire with their ion guns. A defensive line
of Borayla soldiers is wiped out.
The Borayla soldiers retreat down the large avenues and roads
of Arvale city.
Jayons journey is intercepted by Borayla soldiers trying to
hold back the tanks advance. Tank gun fire rocks the street.
The side of a building is hit by misdirected tank gun fire.
The building erupts in flame and debris.
The blast wave forces Jays speeder bike to swerve to the
side of the street. The speeder bike hits a street light pole
and comes to an abrupt halt.
JAYON
You okay?
MIYA
(slightly dazed)
I - I think so.
Relm soldiers approach RELM SOLDIER
You! Surrender!
Jayon accelerates his speeder bike straight at the soldiers.
They dive out of the way. The soldiers return fire but the
speed of Jayons speeder bike has the measure of them. The
speeder bike heads off into the distance.
EXT. BORAYLA - ARVALE CITY SQUARE - DAY
The square is under the control of the Relm army. Surrendered
Borayla soldiers are corralled into groups, waiting to be
processed.
CAPTAIN KATANA is in charge of the invasion. Katana has a
harsh face and an officious nature. A mobile communication
station has been set up in the square. Katana is viewing the
stations viewscreen. He is in contact with Tyras Zor.
CAPTAIN KATANA
Sir, we have some resistance in the
outer areas of Arvale city.

Jayon reacts with an appreciative smile.

A larger landspeeder arrives at Elaines home. Gabe is at the
controls. The landspeeder has a sizeable storage area built
into the rear section. Gabe hurries out of the landspeeder
and hugs his wife.
ELAINE
Oh thank God!
GABE
Everyone okay?
Jayon and Miya nod.
GABE (CONTD)
Cmon, everything in the speeder.
All of it!
Elaine passes bags of essential supplies to Jayon. Jayon
places the provisions in the landspeeders storage area.
GABE (CONTD)
Hurry now!
Elaine shuts and locks her house door. Jayon closes the
storage area. The family get in the landspeeder. Gabe is the
driver.

The landspeeder leaves the street.
EXT. ARVALE CIVILIAN SPACEPORT - DAY
A battle around the main runway. Borayla tanks and soldier
emplacements are firing at Relm positions. The Borayala
soldiers are trying to secure safe passage for a huge
transporter spaceship.
As the transporter takes off, it is hit by Relm tank cannons.
The transporter buckles. The pilot struggles to control the
huge ship.

Terrified Borayla citizens realizing their lives are about to

The transporter loses altitude and heads back to the ground.
It hits wasteland just outside the spaceport. The ship

The landspeeder swerves through the traffic.
Up above, Relm starfighters circle the city, taking out
remaining key strategic sites: Borayla artillery and tank

The family exit the landspeeder.
ELAINE
What are we doing here?
GABE
No time to explain. Follow me.
As the family approach the factorys entrance, three small
Relm DRONES swoop down from above. Elaine spots them.
ELAINE
Oh my God!
GABE
Military drones!
They rush to the entrance. Gabe takes out a hand blaster from
his oil-stained overall. He fires the weapon at a window. The
glass pane shatters.

Cmon! Inside!
INT. WATER FACTORY - DAY
They run along the factory floor, passing by huge pipes and
girders. The drones pursue.
INSERT - drone data screen:
Boraylans. Four adults. Detain.
BACK TO SCREEN
Gabe opens fire at the drones. His aim is wild. The drones
continue their approach. Gabe leads the family along the
platforms.
ELAINE
This is madness! Where are going?
GABE
Here, up here!
Gabe runs up some steps and begins to open a huge hatch.
GABE (CONTD)
Come up, quickly! Come on!
The others run up the steps. The drones are almost upon them.
Gabe opens the hatch to reveal entry into another section of
the factory. He motions them to get inside.
GABE (CONTD)
In! In!
Elaine and Miya step through the hatch. Gabe sees the
incoming drones. He fires further shots. Gabe hands Jayon a
second, smaller blaster.
GABE (CONTD)
Here, use it!
Jayon fires. His aim isnt better than Gabes.
GABE (CONTD)
Inside, Ill follow you!
Jayon enters through the opening. Gabe fires a few more
blaster rounds then follows inside. The hatch entrance
reveals INT. WATER FACTORY - TUNNEL NETWORK - DAY
A thirty foot high tunnel. Dark, damp and uninviting.

Old water tunnels. Cmon!
Gabe leads them along the tunnel.
FACTORY FLOOR
DRONE#1 extends a lastorch. The device cuts through the
hatch.

ELAINE

The three drones enter the tunnel. They pursue the family.
MIYA
Where is this taking us?
GABE
Youll see!
The family carry on down the tunnel.
The drones are fast approaching.
JAYON
Wait! Whats the sound?
ELAINE
What? I cant hear anything...
The sound of gushing water.
GABE
Keep moving!
The sounds gets louder.
The drones are almost on the family.
Gabe turns around and fires his blaster at the drones. Jayon
does the same.
A torrent of water emerges from a side tunnel. It joins the
larger tunnel. Its volume drenches the family. Elaine falls
to the ground. She is submerged.
MIYA
Mother!
Miya grabs at Elaine and pulls her up. The water pressure is
so fast and strong they can barely stand.

Keep going!
With desperate abandon, he fires at the drones. One droid is
hit and destroyed. The two droids open fire. Laser fire
shoots down into the tunnel. Water explosions rock the
tunnel.
Jayon fires but he can barely see the drones due to the
intense pressure of the water. It is now waist level. Any
higher and the family will surely drown.
The water propels the family down the tunnel.
The water pressure forces the two spy drones onto the side
walls. They explode.
The family slide along the tunnel. Gabe sees a hatch ahead.
He struggles towards it. He grabs the hatchs door handle.
Gaining purchase, he turns the handle and opens the hatch.
GABE (CONTD)
Over here!
He points with his arms. Gabe extends his right arm and
catches his wife.
GABE (CONTD)
I got you!
He forces her through the hatch. Jayon and Miya struggle to
the hatch. Gabe grabs Jayon. Jayon clings to the frame of the
hatch. He extends his hand. Miya grabs his hand.
JAYON
(at the top of his voice)
Hold on!
She clings on tightly. The water pressure is so immense. Her
grip is loosening.
MIYA
Cant... hold... on!
Her grip is almost gone.
JAYON
I... got you!
Using every fibre of strength, Jayon pulls Miya back to the
hatch. She can barely breathe. Jayon holds her for a second.
GABE
In!
Jayon and Miya enter the hatch. Gabe follows.

Gabe shuts the hatch. The family look shattered. Theyre too
tired to speak.
Gabe leads them down the passageway to a door. It has a round
hatch opening. He turns the opening. The door swings open to
reveal

An underground space hangar containing old, neglected looking
spaceships.
ELAINE
How did you know about this place?
GABE
I did some repairs for a few
charter pilots. They used the
hangar for smuggling Kessel spice
in and out of Borayla.
MIYA
They were criminals?
GABE
They paid well so I didnt care.
(beat) These ships date back to the
Empire. Old, but they do the run to
Kessel in short time.
Jayon is looking through the cockpit window of one of the
spaceships.
EXT. EQUITA - MILITARY BASE - ACADEMY - DAY
Establishing shot. To interior Luke and Yira walking through the academys hallway.

Luke gives a brief bow of the head as a greeting gesture.

advisors, military personnel. They are chained and under
guard.
Katana enters the shuttle and addresses the prisoners.

you to invade a peace loving planet
like ours? When the Galactic Unity

Should do. Fuel cells fully

Miya is sitting at the table. She looks at her portfolio. Her
work is water-sodden. The designs are defaced. Her face
reflects her sadness.
Elaine is putting food items into a storage container. Gabe
enters and approaches her.

the distance, avoiding detection, a space probe. It scans the
passing frigate with its heat signature sensors, looking for
life signs.

The academy has combat arena, assault course, meditation
chamber, dormitory.
COMBAT ARENA
Luke and Arielle watching three Jedi PADAWAN. They wear
austere robes. The padawan are practising their force power.
Their disciplines include the understanding of control,
sense, and alter.
NIS - age twelve. A young boy of slight frame.
ZOELL - age sixteen. A girl with red hair.
KIWEN - age eighteen. An alien with humanoid features. It is
the male of its species.
Zoell is practising her Jedi moves.
Kiwen is levitating a ball. It rises above his head. He is
trying to pass underneath it. As he approaches, the ball
falls to the ground.

been a probe monitoring activity
outside Borayla space. The nav-com
failed to detect it. Damn, useless
ship!

I-I dont understand. What do you

GABE
Probe reported to Borayla. A scout
ship was deployed. Tell Elaine and
Miya weve got company.
Jayon leaves the cockpit. Gabe looks at the nav-computer
display. He access the frigates weapons inventory. He scans
the payload.

The enemy ship - a scout class Relm spaceship designed for
shorter range space attack.

A helmet clad PILOT. He is a Relm assassin. The R emblem
etched on his dark uniform.

The scout spaceship catches up with the frigate. It opens
fire with its lasers. The frigate veers off its flight path.

The scout ship almost collides into the rear of the frigate.
At the last moment it turns and passes by.

The scout ship is in Gabes sight. He opens fire with the
frigates lasers.

The side of the scout ship is hit. Several side panels break
off. The pilot momentarily slows down and the spaceship
lurches back and collides into the side of Gabes frigate.

against the side of the exit. The speed of the two ships is
phenomenal.
He ventures out and leaps across to the frigate. He clings to
its side. Its velocity is so great he can barely hold on.
He pulls out his blaster.
Gabe veers the frigate left and right. He manages to break
away from the enemy spaceship. The pilot watches his
spaceship disappear into the night.

Thats the end of him.
Jayon shows his relief.
SIDE OF FRIGATE
Pilot blasts at the left wing. A section breaks apart. The
frigates shakes violently.
COCKPIT
A warning light flashes.

Were losing manoeuvrability!
Gabe struggles to keep the frigate balanced.
SPACE
The frigate tilts to the left. The pilot slips from his
position. He falls out into the expanse of space.

She picks up the items. Elaine looks concerned.

Borayla ambassador VAULDER with his small delegation - an
ASSISTANT and a BODYGUARD. Galactic Unity soldiers are
gathered close to the delegation. They are chatting.
President Yira enters the reception room.

This is a welcome surprise.
He shakes the Borayla ambassadors hand. Yiras expression
turns from warmth to mild confusion.

close to the window. He looks out. Expectation expressed on
his face.

The drone gliding towards the ambassadors apartment.

Vaulder opens the window. The drone enters the apartment and
lands in the ambassadors hands. He deactivates the drone.

The frigate approaching Equitas atmosphere. The side of the
frigate - the left wing - is heating up.

The ship is buckling under the heat stress.
MAIN HOLD
Elaine, asleep, wrapped in sheets. Miya is close to her.

Gabe is checking exterior and interior temperature readings.

The frigate approaching the vast planetary shield. Gabe
changes course and the ship heads to the smaller shield

Gabe attempts to punch the ambassador. His punch glances
Vaulders chest. The guard holds back Gabe. The ambassador
brushes himself down, trying to restore some dignity.

Lets not be hasty. We can resolve
this in a civil way.
GABE
Hes lying to you all! Borayla sent
no ambassador! Why cant you see

I came to Equita in good faith and
this is how Im treated? Like some
kind of criminal?
PRESIDENT YIRA
The allegations he makes are very
serious, ambassador. It would be
remiss of me to dismiss them out of
hand. Under the Unity charter Im

to our borders.
AMBASSADOR VAULDER
Threat? What threat? Borayla is not
under attack. You take the word of
this man over the ambassador of
Borayla? That is a slight against
my character. (beat) You realize
your decision will jeopardize our
treaty. Is that what you want?
PRESIDENT YIRA
The treaty can wait.
AMBASSADOR VAULDER
Not indefinitely. The high command
of Borayla will not stand for this.
A letter of protest will be
forthcoming.
Vaulder starts to leave the office.
PRESIDENT YIRA
I must insist you remain in your
residence until this matter is
resolved.
The ambassadors face denotes his disapproval. He leaves.
Rankin, see that citizen Boray is
returned to his family.
Rankin escorts Gabe out of the room. The President is in deep
thought.

Ambassador Vaulder tidying his possessions together.
Documents put in a case, other personal effects put away.
He activates the drone. A small viewscreen opens on the
drones front panel. Glost appears on the viewscreen.
The ambassador accesses a folder on a smaller screen within
the main viewscreen. A long list of numerical code is
displayed.

A few seconds pass.

Vaulder deactivates the screen.
He opens the door of his apartment. A Unity GUARD stands in
corridor. Vaulder silently shuts the door. He activates a
button on the drone. It hovers out of the room into the
hallway.
HALLWAY
The guard notices it. He takes out his blaster and tries to
aim. The drone opens fire with a near silent round of laser
fire. The guard is killed.
The ambassador leaves his room.
HALLWAY

Vaulder scans both sides of the hallway for any other guards.
He approaches the next room. Knocks on door. His assistant
comes out. The ambassador nods his head. The ambassador walks
to the end of the corridor. His assistant and bodyguard
follow.
The men hurry down the corridor heading for the elevator.
DOWNSTAIRS
The men exit the elevator. They hurry to the entrance. They
see TWO GUARDS patrolling close to the entrance.
AMBASSADOR VAULDER
Kill them!
The drone laser blasts guard#1. He falls to the ground.
Guard#2 fires his blaster. His aim is inaccurate. The drone
blasts again. It strikes the man in the chest. He falls back
on to the desk. Instinctively, he activates the alarm. The
drones third blast dispatches the guard.
An alarm rings out throughout the complex.
INT. ACADEMY - NIGHT
Luke, Arielle, and the two oldest Jedi padawan, Zoelle and
Kiwen, lightsaber training. The alarm breaks their
concentration.
LUKE
You two wait here.
Luke and Arielle investigate.
EXT. ACADEMY COURTYARD - NIGHT
The men running through the vast courtyard.
ACADEMY
Luke and Arielle running through the academy.
LUKE

The men continue running through the courtyard.

The men arrive at the spacebay. The compound stores the
ambassadors spaceship and those belonging to other
delegates.
AMBASSADOR VAULDER

Get the ship started!
The assistant runs to the spaceship. Luke and Arielle enter
the spacebay.
AMBASSADOR VAULDER (CONTD)
(to drone)
Kill the Jedi!
The drone opens fire. Luke activates his lightsaber and
deflects its blaster fire. The bodyguard unleashes his
blaster gun. Arielles lightsaber skills are comparable to
Lukes. She deflects the bodyguards blaster rounds.
Vaulder runs up the spaceships ramp.
BOARDING RAMP
He activates two assassin DROIDS. The same droid model used
to attack Luke on Strayus. The droids step down from the ramp
and target Luke and Arielle.
SPACEBAY
Luke senses their presence. He dispatches the drone with a
telling lunge. The droids open fire with their blasters. The
bodyguard retreats and heads up the spaceships ramp.
The two assassin droids maintain their attack. Luke and
Arielles combat skills are superior. The droids are lanced
apart.
The spaceship rises from the spacebay. The spaceship turns to
face Luke and Arielle. It unleashes its mounted laser cannon.
The spacebay is ripped asunder with cannon fire.
Luke and Arielle dive for cover behind a small spaceship.
Vaulders spaceship tips its front down preparing to swoop in
for the kill. Luke leaps onto the top of the stationary
spaceship. Vaulder targets Luke.
COCKPIT
BORAYLA AMBASSADOR
(defiant)
This is the end, Jedi.

He fires the cannon.

SPACEBAY
Lukes reflexes meet the challenge. His lightsaber deflects
the rounds with extraordinary accuracy. As the spaceship
soars over Lukes head he strikes a power coupling. The
coupling severs apart.
The base of the ship is alight with plasma charge.
COCKPIT
ASSISTANT
Were losing power to the left
thruster!
The ship swings around in haphazard fashion.
ASSISTANT (CONTD)
Need to take her down!
AMBASSADOR VAULDER
No, up! Up!
He pushes the assistant away from the controls and takes
command. He struggles with the controls.
SPACEBAY
The spaceship rises some feet into the air then tilts to its
side. The ambassador points the ship straight at Luke. He is
attempting to crash the spaceship into Luke.
COCKPIT
AMBASSADOR VAULDER (CONTD)
Youll die with me!
SPACEBAY
Luke jumps down from the stationary ship. He grabs Arielle.
The ambassadors ship lurches down and heads straight at Luke
and Arielle. They run across the spacebay desperate to
escape.
Arielle loses her grip and falls to the ground.
ARIELLE
Luke!
Luke turns around. The ship is a few seconds away from
crashing into her. There is no time to pull her away.
Luke raises his right hand and moves it to the left. His Jedi
power forces Vaulders ship to lurch to the left. It misses
Arielle and crashes several feet away. It collides into a
wall and cargo containers.

Luke runs back to Arielle. He picks her up. She struggles for
breath. They look at the crashed spaceship.
INT. GALACTIC UNITY - SECURITY BRIEFING ROOM - DAY
Luke, Han, Leia, Chewbacca, the droids, soldiers, and key
military personnel in attendance.
PRESIDENT YIRA
The Unity has been notified of an
invasion on the planet Borayla.
Details are limited. Borayla does
not belong to the Unity but that
doesnt preclude our direct
involvement. The Unity is duty
bound to investigate. (beat)
Yesterday the Unity was attacked by
criminals masquerading as diplomats
from Borayla. Luke Skywalker and
Arielle prevented their escape. The
Unity is indebted to your
assistance.
Leia looks at Luke, her expression displaying admiration.
Weve reason to believe the attack
on the Unity is directly linked to
the invasion on Borayla. Captain
Brax -Brax continues.
BRAX
We have no surveillance probes in
that sector of the galaxy. A group
of X-Wing fighters supported by a
carrier will travel to Borayla,
assess the situation and report
back. President Yira has asked if
you will assist, Solo.
HAN

PRESIDENT YIRA

ships reputation is without
question. Id be grateful for your

HAN

Luke. He tries his best to keep the conversation private.

Pity. If they hadnt died in the
crash we couldve extracted
information. This incident
reinforces our need for the Jedi.
LUKE

For a second Lukes guard drops. He places his hand on the
side of her arm in friendship. Arielle reciprocates with a
warm expression on her face.

X-Wing and A-Wing pilots preparing to take off. Han and
Chewbacca getting the Millennium Falcon ready. A Unity
SOLDIER approaches Han.

Commander Solo? Captain Brax has
requested you take the two droids

Galactic Unity carrier spaceship and the Millennium Falcon
approaching Borayla.
Han, Brax, Chewbacca and the two droids are in the Millennium
Falcons cockpit.
A scanner probe is launched from the carrier. It is much
smaller than a standard space probe. It scans the higher
atmosphere of Borayla.
The probe releases three smaller scanner probes. They enter
the atmosphere and scan the planets land formation. The
visual data is transmitted to the two spaceships.
MILLENNIUM FALCON - COCKPIT
Han and Brax study the data. Imagery of the vast continents
and oceans of Borayla is displayed.
BRAX
Nothing out of the ordinary.
HAN
Hold on.

large object, its form unclear, stands out within a rural
area.

through the cloud cover. Far below huge swathes of land.
Han scans the land with the Falcons sensors.

Two Relm starfighters racing straight towards the Falcon.
BRAX (CONTD)

Han looks up from the sensor display and sees the
starfighters on an attack run.

Han turns the Falcon to a sharp right angle as the

starfighters soar past.

Nothing here, eh?

The Relm starfighters bank around and open fire. The Falcon
weaves through the sky avoiding their laser fire. Han cant
shake them.
Five more Relm ships rise up from lower altitude. Its seven
starfighters vs one Millennium Falcon.
BRAX
Were in trouble!
HAN
Tell me about it!
Han pulls the Falcon up.
HAN (CONTD)
Chewie, see if you get a lock on
them.
Chewbacca scans the targets on the tactical viewscreen. He
activates the Falcons rear facing gun turrets. They open
fire.
BORAYLA SKY
The Relm ships dodge the laser beams.
On the subradio, Brax contacts Carrier 1 - the code name for
the spaceship.
BRAX
Carrier 1, we need support! Enemy
targets on our tail!
BORAYLA UPPER ATMOSPHERE
The carrier turns and starts descending into the cloud cover
of Borayla. Suddenly, without warning, a large Relm attack
class spaceship strikes through the clouds. It targets the
carrier with its ion cannon.
The carrier takes a side hit. An explosion rocks the ship.

takes a direct hit to its reactor core section. The carrier
explodes. The three X-Wings try to get away from the blast

They collide together in a ball of flame.
X-Wing 1 tries to leave the combat zone. The Relm ship fires
its cannons. The X-Wing dodges the blast beams. The Relm
vessel fires a heat tracking torpedo.
The X-Wing pilots nav-computer picks up the heat trail of
the missile. He tries to swerve out of its incoming path.

The torpedo finds its target. The X-Wing is destroyed.

the starfighters and comes down behind them. The Falcon opens

the height of a skyscraper. Two large ion cannons extend from
one side, close to the top of the tower.
A smaller building is situated close to the base of the
tower. It is a command centre.
The top of the weapon is charged with ion fusion. A stream of
white and red ionic energy fires from the top of the weapon.
It hurtles out through Boraylas atmosphere into the vastness
of open space.
The energy charge appears to pierce the very fabric of the
universe. Space-time starts to unfold. A swirl of energy
appears.

The swirl of energy matter merges with the energy charge
generated by the Doom Vortex.

beam fires from the first cannon. The beam travels up out of

The skyline changes. Cloud formations begin to swirl. A vast
whirlwind appears. The whirlwind manifests into a red hole
which fills the skyline. The atmosphere, clouds, air
particles, are consumed by the hole.

The two Relm ships are running parallel with the Falcon. One
is on the Falcons right, the other on the left. The explorer
ships fire energy hooks onto the sides of the Falcon. The

Falcons power!
The nav-computer is alerted of the power drain. It emits a
warning noise.

Han navigates the Falcon left and right trying to break free
form the energy hooks and the Relm ships. The Falcon rams

Doubt well be seeing the Falcon

Chewbacca reacts with sadness.

The shuttles continues on its flight.
BORAYLA SURFACE
A Borayla RESISTANCE FIGHTER is aiming a portable ground to
air rocket launcher at the approaching shuttle. He fires. The
first missile misses the shuttle.
The shuttle performs evasive manoeuvres. A second missile is
launched. It hits the rear of the shuttle. It is aflame.
SHUTTLE INTERIOR
The ship shudders as if hit by a thunderbolt.
BRAX
(rhetorically)
Is there anyone that doesnt want
to kill us?
Han leaps up and jumps on the guard. The guard is forced back
onto the wall of the shuttle. He grabs Hans neck and
attempts to strangle him.

Chewbacca hits the guards head with his las-cuffs. The guard

AIR BATTLE
Two Relm starfighters strike the A-Wings attack on the
carriers. The starfighters try to take out the lead A-Wing
firing at the largest Relm ship.
A-Wing Commander#1 releases some cluster bombs.
A-WING PILOT COMMANDER#1
Cluster bombs away!
The cluster payload are small anti-grav charges
(approximately ten in number). The two Relm fighters veer
left and right to avoid the floating bombs.
Relm fighter#1 opens fire in an attempt to destroy the bombs.
The aim is true and three bombs are destroyed.
The fighter is unable to target the remaining cluster bombs.
It flies straight into a bomb. Relm fighter#1 explodes.
Relm fighter#2 cant pull away in time. It collides into a
cluster bomb and is blown apart.
The Relm carrier ships are descending.

UNITY CITY BLOCKS
Three X-Wing fighters are pinned down by three Relm
starfighters.

The X-Wings descend and strafe through the gaps in between

the vast city tower blocks. The Relm do the same. The
fighters are perilously close to the sides of the blocks.
X-WING PILOT#5
Watch those sides.
They continue through the narrow gaps between blocks. The
Relm starfighters in hot pursuit.
X-WING PILOT#5 (CONTD)
Keep in tight formation!
X-WING PILOT#6
Im losing it....!
X-Wing#6 is unable to keep to his narrow flight path. He
veers to the left and collides into the side of a tower
block.
The Relm fighters open fire. The block towers take a
hammering. Glass and metal ripped apart.
The Relm fighters are almost upon the two X-Wings.
X-WING PILOT#5
A-wing squadron! Any units! We need
assistance, now!
Two A-Wings charge in behind the three Relm fighters.
A-WING PILOT#3
Were coming in!
A-WING PILOT #4
Going to foil-less attack mode.
The wings retract on both A-Wing fighters. The fighters
accelerate at phenomenal speed. They soar through the narrow
gaps - their retracted wings making their flight much easier.
A-WING PILOT#4
I see em.
The A-Wings have the three Relm fighters on their HUD cockpit
screens. They open fire.
One Relm fighter is taken out. The other two try to dodge the
laser fire coming from behind.
A-WING PILOT#3
No, you dont!
The two Relm fighters make one last charge forward. They open
fire on the two X-Wings ahead. The X-Wings pull up trying to
break away from the narrow gaps between blocks.

One of the X-Wings clips the side of a block. The fighter

hurtles into the block. The other fighter soars above the
tower blocks.
As he arches his fighter around he sees the two Relm fighters
exit from the lower level. They are heading directly at him
on a near-collision course.
Suddenly, without warning, the two Relm fighters explode. The
A-Wings have just destroyed them.
X-WING PILOT#5
(relieved)
Close call, A-Wing!
PERIMETER OF UNITY BASE
The Relm troop carriers begin to descend. Unity tanks open
fire as the troop carriers land. Regiments of Relm soldiers
and BATTLE DROIDS disembark from the landing ramps.
The droids charge forward onto the main roadway leading to
the base. The Relm soldiers follow up behind. Captain Katana
leads his men.
Two types of battle droid 1) Taller bulkier droids with stronger armor.
2) Smaller, squarer designed droids, approximately two feet
in height. They have limited strength armor. A standard
blaster is their weapon.
These droids are called MERGERS. They can atomize and
reassemble their structure for short range teleportation. The
atomizer device is attached to the back of the droids.
The ground attack has begun.
INSIDE TANK
GALACTIC UNITY TANK COMMANDER
Break those lines!
UNITY BASE ROADWAY
The tanks target the droid advance. Some droids are destroyed
by tank fire but the rest continue on.
Relm starfighters swoop down and fire at the defensive line
of Unity tanks. The tanks are unable to move out of the line
of fire. They are easy targets for the Relm. One tank unit is
wiped out.
X-WING COMMANDER#1
All fighters, protect the rest of
the tanks!

The X-Wings and A-Wings alter their flight paths. They target
the Relm fighters. The partnership of X and A-Wings proves
effective. Four Relm fighters are destroyed.
The land charge continues towards the Unity base.
Idigo Raze emerges from his carriers entrance ramp. He is
riding a tankbike. The tankbike is an adapted landspeeder
bike with the bodywork of a tank moulded to suit the design
of a bike.
The land battle to protect the base is fierce and
uncompromising. Unity soldiers standing their ground against
the combined firepower of battle droids and Relm soldiers.
Raze activates his tankbikes laser guns. He cuts through
many lines of Unity soldiers.
X-Wing and A-Wing continue their aerial defence but have lost
significant numbers.
Unity soldiers are unable to hold their positions. They are
pushed back.
The droids are almost at the base.
Ion cannon emplacements on the wall open fire at the droids.
The droids fire back. The Unitys perimeter wall is awash
with laser fire. Relm soldiers target Unity soldiers
operating the ion cannons.
The droids fire at the gateway entrance. The deflector shield
absorbs the impact.
CAPTAIN KATANA
Keep firing!
The onslaught is relentless.
INTERIOR OF BASE
Hundreds of soldiers positioned, protecting the gateway, and
the rest of the interior.
Leia and her soldiers are positioned at the entrance to the
command centre.
JEDI ACADEMY
The three young Jedi are preparing for battle. Luke and
Arielle watch over them.
ARIELLE
I pray theyre ready.
Luke doesnt respond although his reaction suggests he shares
the same feeling as Arielle.

BASE
Many Unity soldiers protecting the exterior of the base have
been killed or forced into retreat far beyond the field of
war.
The wall cannons maintain a strong defense. Deadly ion beams
strike down from the wall top, hitting droids and Relm
soldiers.
The merger droids activate a switch on their bodywork. They
continue their advance and begin to disappear.
BASE INTERIOR
The merger droids reassemble inside the base. The Unity
soldiers open fire.
UNITY SOLDIER
(into communicator)
The base has been breached! The
base has been breached!
CONTROL ROOM
PRESIDENT YIRA
Sound the evacuation alarm. All
remaining base personnel to leave
immediately.
The alarm starts to ring throughout the entire base.
UNITY RESIDENCE BUILDING - CORRIDORS
Staff running to the exits.
APARTMENT
The Boray family are getting ready to go. They are packing
items in a few bags.
GABE
Just take essential items! Leave
the rest.
A UNITY SOLDIER enters the main living area.
UNITY SOLDIER
We have to leave now!
Gabe motions his family together and they leave the
apartment.
JEDI ACADEMY
Luke, Arielle, and the three Jedi padawan running through
hallway.
111.
BASE
The mergers attacking the Parliament building and command
centre. Unity soldiers defending. Leia and her team have
joined the battle.
Several merger droids march to the side of the wall. They
disappear and reappear on the wall walk (the area along the
tops of the wall). A Unity ion cannon-operator turns the
weapon around to target the mergers.
The cannon hits some of the merger droids.
Before he can retarget, the remaining merger droids
reassemble close by. The droids eliminate the soldier and aim
the ion cannon at the gateway generator.
The generators guard fires his ion cannon at the merger
droids. The mergers and cannon are destroyed.
A second ion cannon has been seized by merger droids. They
fire the cannon at the guard. He is killed. The droids target
the generator. It is destroyed.
The gateways deflector shield drops. The remaining battle
droids and Relm soldiers storm through the gateway.
Luke, Arielle and the three Jedi padawan exit the academy.
Luke activates his lightsaber.
Arielle activates her lightsaber.
The three Jedi padawan activate their lightsabers.
LUKE SKYWALKER
May the force be with you.
Luke enters the battle, followed by Arielle and the three
Jedi padawan.
The mergers advance towards the command centre and
Parliament. Their short range teleportation ability
outwitting Unity soldiers.
The larger battle droids follow behind the mergers, blasting
through Unity troop positions.
Luke dispatches several larger battle droids with his
lightsaber skills. Arielle does the same.
The Jedi padawan counter the droids insurgence. Their
lightsabers protect them from the blaster rounds.
They cut down a swathe of battle and merger droids.
Idigo Raze racing into the base on his tankbike. He is
shooting Unity soldiers with indiscriminate glee.
112.
Raze views Luke up ahead. He races towards the Jedi master.

Luke senses his attack. He uses his lightsaber as a shield
and deflects the bikes laser fire.
UNITY BASE TOP WALL
A UNITY trooper fires an ion cannon at Razes bike.
UNITY BASE
Raze swerves to avoid the cannons fire. His bike takes a hit
to its front. It charges towards the wall. Raze leaps from
the bike seconds before it is destroyed.
Raze is slightly hurt but gets to his feet. He takes out his
hand blaster and fires at the enemy.
IDIGO RAZE
Activate the disrupters!
Relm soldiers place two small cylindrical devices on the
ground. The devices are switched on. They emit energy waves.
The Jedi lightsabers are deactivated.
Luke emotes concern.
IDIGO RAZE (CONTD)
Finish them!
Luke picks up a stray blaster and uses it as his weapon.
Arielle and the three cadets do the same.
LUKE
Aim for those disrupters!
The larger battle droids move across to protect the devices.
Raze fires at the youngest padawan, Nis. Nis takes a hit to
the shoulder. He falls to the ground.
LUKE (CONTD)
Nis!
Raze stands over the young padawan. He aims his blaster at
Nis head. Nis raises his arm, opens his hand and uses his
force power. Razes blaster hand starts to glow red. In pain,
he drops the blaster.
Raze bends down and grabs Nis by the scruff of his neck.
IDIGO RAZE
Death awaits, padawan.
Raze takes a laserblade from his jacket. He strikes the young
padawan across the chest. Nis falls back.
Lukes anger transcends the noise of the battle.

LUKE
No!
Luke uses his force power and compels Raze back. The force of
Lukes ire is so great it pushes back some of the advancing
horde. The two lightsaber disrupters are caught in Lukes
force blast. They are deactivated.
LUKE (CONTD)
Arielle, help me!
Arielle runs over to Luke.
LUKE (CONTD)
Take Nis! Head to the transporters!
ARIELLE
Im not leaving you!
LUKE
Go!
Arielle carries Nis away.
LUKE (CONTD)
(forceful, to the other
padawan)
Go with her!
Zoell and Kiwan retreat. They provide lightsaber cover for
Arielle as she carries Nis. They enter the Parliament
building.
IDIGO RAZE
Your Jedi order is gone, Skywalker.
A relic of the past.
He activates a lever on his laserblade. It extends to the
full length of a standard lightsaber. The blades energy is
comparable to a lightsaber.
IDIGO RAZE (CONTD)
Now let me consign you to that
past!
He lunges forward attacking Luke with his extended
laserblade. Luke defends with his lightsaber.
COMMAND CENTRE
The battle droids and merger droids are attacking the command
centre. Leia and the Unity soldiers situated behind makeshift barriers.
LEIA
Hold your positions!

The droid charge is relentless. Relm soldiers are following

up behind the droids.
UNITY SOLDIER#1
Theres so many!
The entrance to the command centre takes a hammering of laser
fire. The droids are almost upon Leias unit.
LEIA
Pull back!
The Unity soldiers make a hasty retreat. Many are gunned down
as they head back inside the command centre. It is a chaotic
withdrawal. The huge command centre doors are closed behind
the soldiers.
The merger droids activate their teleporter atomizer devices.
They disappear and reappear in
COMMAND CENTRE - GROUND LEVEL
UNITY SOLDIER#2
Theyre inside!
A huge fire fight commences inside the command centre.
OUTSIDE PARLIAMENT
Unity soldiers valiantly resisting the droids and Relm
advance. Blood and death spew forth. The Unity soldiers are
on the brink of defeat.
Idigo Raze and Luke continue their battle. They clash weapons
over and over again.
IDIGO RAZE
Your skills remain intact, old
Jedi.
Raze steps back. He shuts his eyes for a brief moment. His
face goes into a meditative pose. His body is duplicated. Two
versions of Idigo Raze stand before Luke. Both identical,
both holding extended laserblades.
IDIGO RAZE (CONTD)
(taunting)
Come, Jedi...
Luke waits, preparing his strategy. The two versions of Raze
stand either side of Luke. They dive forward and attack. Luke
counters as best he can. Razes speed is formidable. He jabs
and lunges and parries with the laserblades.
The two Razes try to rush Luke into a mistake. Lukes head
turns left and right working out Razes ever changing
position. They charge forward again. Luke leaps high into the
air and lands away from them.

IDIGO RAZE (CONTD)

Youre slow. Age has its weakness.
Time, sweet time. How it haunts us
all.
Raze laughs. His other version smiles.
IDIGO RAZE (CONTD)
The Sith almost possessed you,
Skywalker. Youre weak like your
father. Anakin Skywalker. A fallen
man for a fallen time.
Luke tries to ignore Razes taunts but his words cut deep.
IDIGO RAZE (CONTD)
Youre no different!
LUKE
Enough!
Luke motions forward, his lightsaber striking with pure
anger. The two Razes struggle to defend themselves. Luke
pushes one of the Razes to the ground with a thunderous front
kick. Raze lies on the ground, struggling to breathe.
The other Raze attempts to strike Luke from behind.
Luke turns around and raises his hand. Razes hand is forced
back towards his neck. The laserblade is about to slice his
neck in half.
IDIGO RAZE
Erggh!
Luke sees a vision of DARTH SIDIOUS. His ghostly form is next
to Raze. Sidious speaks directly to Luke DARTH SIDIOUS
Strike him down. Embrace the dark
side of the force, Skywalker. You
know it to be your true destiny.
Luke is almost hypnotized by the vision. Raze is unable to
withstand Lukes force control of his hand. The laserblade is
seconds away from killing him.
Luke raises his hand for a brief second. His force power over
Raze is gone. Raze drops to his knees. His hand drops the
laserblade.
The sound of blaster fire from soldiers and droids brings
Luke back to his full senses.
UNITY SOLDIER#3
Master Skywalker, we must retreat!
116.
The Unity soldiers are pulling back towards the Parliament

building and command centre.
Luke obeys the soldiers request and heads back into
PARLIAMENT BUILDING
Unity soldiers lock the doors.
UNITY SOLDIER#4
The President has issued a direct
order. The base is to be evacuated.
Luke surveys the entrance. He sees a nearby corridor.
LUKE
This way!
The men follow Luke.
COMMAND CENTRE
Leia and her soldiers defending the expansive ground level
from merger droid attack. The larger battle droids join the
fray. Leia and the Unity soldiers standing cover behind high
banks of storage cabinets.
LEIA
(to some of the soldiers)
Get to the control room! Help the
President and the others!
Some Unity soldiers leave the ground level. Leia and the
other soldiers provide covering fire.
PARLIAMENT CORRIDOR
Luke and soldiers running. Several politicians and admin
staff meet up with them from an adjoining corridor. One of
the admin staff, a WOMAN, sees merger droids marching towards
them WOMAN
Theyre coming this way!
Luke grabs the woman by her hand. He motions her, and the
other staff, forward.
LUKE
Keep moving!
The mergers open fire. Luke blocks their shots with his
lightsaber. He continues on down the corridor. The mergers
droids give chase.
UNITY RESIDENCE BUILDING
Family running down corridor.
117.
ELAINE
Youre going too fast!
Gabe turns around and tries to help his wife. The soldier
runs to a nearby corridor door. He accesses the door pad
console. The door opens.
SOLDIER
Get in!
Merger droids appear down the corridor.
SOLDIER (CONTD)
(seeing their arrival)
We havent got much time! Inside!
The family enter through the door.
SECOND CORRIDOR
The soldier closes the door. He takes out his hand blaster.
SOLDIER (CONTD)
Take the elevator at the end of the
corridor. Level one will take you
to the hangar!
The merger droids reassemble inside the corridor.
SOLDIER (CONTD)
Go!
The family rush down the corridor. The soldier fires at the
mergers. His full discharge of blaster rounds. The mergers
engulf him. He is shot down.
Elaine screams in horror.
GABE
Dont look! Keep going!
The mergers fire down the corridor. The walls are painted
with blaster fire and impact holes. By a sheer miracle the
family make it to the elevator. Gabe punches the console pad.
The door opens.
GABE (CONTD)
Get in!
The mergers are approaching...
ELEVATOR
JAYON
What level did he say?
GABE
One! It was one! Press it!
118.
HALLWAY
The mergers are almost at the elevator entrance...
ELEVATOR
MIYA
The droids!
GABE
Get down!
The droids fire. The walls of the elevator take a hammering
of blaster discharge.
Its only Gabes quick instincts - telling his family to get
down - that ensure their survival. The family cower on the
elevator floor. Above their heads, the laser beams.
Gabe thrusts his leg out and punches the elevator control pad
with his foot. By sheer luck he hits the right button - level
one.
The door closes. The elevator descends to the lower levels.
ELEVATOR SHAFT
Some of the mergers reappear in the elevator shaft. Their
sensors fail to realize the shaft has no immediate base to
support their weight. They plummet down the shaft and crash
to ground level.
CONTROL ROOM
Yira and the executive preparing to leave. Data files and
papers placed in folders. Control room operator is at
console.
Base will be in full lock down in
ten minutes.
PRESIDENT YIRA
That should give us enough time to
get to the transporters.
PARLIAMENT CORRIDOR
Luke and others heading to the hangar.
COMMAND CENTRE GROUND LEVEL
Leia and her unit under attack from merger and battle droids.
COMMAND CENTER EXTERIOR
Captain Katana inspecting the area.

RELM LIEUTENANT
Base is almost secure, Captain
Katana.
CAPTAIN KATANA
Send all available men to the
military hangar.
RELM LIEUTENANT

COMMAND CENTRE GROUND LEVEL
The level is overrun with droids.
LEIA
(to her soldiers)
Lets go! Lets go!
They exit the level.
UNITY BASE CONCOURSE
The large concourse leads to the hangar and its runway. Unity
soldiers are positioned behind make-shift defensive barriers.
Relm soldiers charging forward. The Relm open fire.
The concourse becomes a battlefield.
INT. GALACTIC UNITY - HANGAR - DAY
Several large and smaller transporter ships. Hundreds of base
staff, injured soldiers, other Unity employees, boarding the
ships. Yira is overseeing the exodus.
Arielle is tending to the injured Jedi boy, Nis. He is
resting on an anti-grav stretcher. A medic droid is attending
to his injury - a laceration to his stomach. The two other
Jedi padawan, Zoell and Kiwen, stand close by.
Other medics (humans and droids) attending to injured
soldiers and base staff.
UNITY SOLDIER
President Yira, were holding the
Relm advance as best we can but -PRESIDENT YIRA
Well have to take our chances.
His executive are preparing to board the largest transporter
ship.
DARNELL
Jonah, arent you coming on board?
120.
PRESIDENT YIRA
I need to help the others. Ill
join you soon.
CORRIDOR
Leia and her team running down corridor. The droids pursuing.
GANGWAY
An expansive swirling shape gangway leads to the hangar.
Leias unit start to descend the gangway. Battle droids open
fire from above. The soldiers respond in kind. A section of
the gangway is destroyed in the fire fight.
LEIA
Look out!
The supports of the gangway buckle. The section supporting
Leias team breaks apart from the rest of the gangway. Leias
team tumble several feet to the lower level.
The battle droids are descending. They stop at the broken
section. Leia attempts to discharge her hand blaster. It
doesnt work. Damaged in the fall. Leia grabs her laser rifle
and targets the droids.
She fires her rifle. Her aim is true. Several droids are
dispatched.
UNITY SOLDIER
I got you, Major!
He pulls her up. She grimaces in pain. She limps forward. The
soldier supports her weight. The other soldiers lay down some
further fire, then follow Leia beyond the gangway towards the
hangar entrance.
HANGAR
The family arrive at the hangar.
UNITY SOLDIER (CONTD)
(pointing to the ship)
All civilian personnel proceed to
transporter three.
GABE
(to family)
This way!
They hurry across the hangar and find the line of civilians
leading up the ramp to one of the transporter ships.
Luke arrives in the hangar. He sees Arielle. He rushes
through the throng of people to greet her.

ARIELLE
Luke, praise the force you made it.
LUKE
How is Nis?
ARIELLE
Hell pull through.
Arielle strokes his hair.
ARIELLE (CONTD)
Brave young boy.
LUKE
Get him on board. You two as well.
The padawans ordeal has taken some of the color out of their
faces.
LUKE (CONTD)
You performed well.
KIWEN
Will Nis be okay?
LUKE
Hes strong, like you two. Now get
going. Ill join you in a moment.
ARIELLE
Luke, Im not leaving without you.
LUKE
Arielle, please.
Arielle takes the injured Nis and the other padawan to the
lead transporter.
UNITY CONCOURSE
The battle to hold the concourse is yielding to the Relm.
They are advancing to the hangar entrance.
HANGAR
Luke is looking for Leia. He cant find her. He finds Yira
continuing to orchestrate the evacuation PRESIDENT YIRA
(to staff)
... come along, everyone to their
ships! Please, we cant afford to
leave anyone behind!
He sees Luke.

Luke!
LUKE
Leia, have you seen her?
Yira shakes his head.
PRESIDENT YIRA
Theres little time left. You must LUKE
(abrupt)
Im not leaving without my sister.
He moves away in search of Leia.
Leia and her team arrive in the hangar. She is limping.
Blood is streaming from her forehead.
LUKE (CONTD)
(concerned)
Leia!
LEIA
(in pain)
Im okay. Broken leg.
A medic assists Leia to the lead transporter. Luke follows
them.
Remaining staff and military personnel are continuing to
board the transporters.
Battle droids enter the hangar from the south entrance.
UNITY SOLDIER
Droids in the hangar!
Unity staff panic and run up the ramps. They push past each
other trying to get inside.
Unity soldiers open fire on the droids.
The huge hangar door opens to reveal the runway zone. Just
beyond the runway, the Relm army battling the depleted Unity
army.
HANGAR
The Unity soldiers defending the transporters.
LEAD TRANSPORTER

LUKE
(to medics, referring to
Leia)
Look after her.
Luke steps down the ramp, withdraws his lightsaber and joins
the soldiers in their defense. He defends the soldiers with
his lightsaber. It blocks the droids blaster fire.
The transporters power up. Their loud ion engines alert the
Relm army to their impending departure.
UNITY CONCOURSE
Captain Katana motions his soldiers to launch one final
attack. Relm soldiers position smaller size ion cannons on
the ground. The cannons power up.
HANGAR
Luke cutting down droids with his lightsaber. The few
remaining Unity soldiers provide Luke with extra firepower.
TRANSPORTER#1 MAIN HOLD
The main hold is full of Unity staff. Nis remains on the
stretcher. Arielle is watching over him.
TRANSPORTER#2 MAIN HOLD
The main hold is full of injured soldiers. The Boray family
are sitting on floor. Elaine has Gabe close to her. She looks
at Gabe. He puts his hand out and she holds it.
TRANSPORTER VESSEL#1
Yira enters the cockpit of the transporter PRESIDENT YIRA
(to pilot)
Lets go.
HANGAR
The Unity soldiers see the transporter ships about to leave
the hangar. They retreat back and run up the ramp of
transporter#1.
The transporter ships are now accelerating in preparation for
space flight.
Luke dispatches one last droid and runs to transporter#1.
Several Unity soldiers stand at the ramp waiting for Luke to
leap on board.
The battle droids continue firing.
124.
With one last bout of energy, Luke leaps forward and reaches
the transporters ramp. He grasps hold to it.
OUTSIDE HANGAR
CAPTAIN KATANA
Open fire!
The cannons open fire. Relm soldiers open fire with their
blasters.
The spaceships exit the hangar and start to rise. Luke hangs
onto the ramp. He crawls up the ramp and into the
transporter. A Unity soldier helps him to his feet.
The transporters soar upward, narrowly avoiding the Relms
final attack.
INT. TRANSPORTER#1 SPACESHIP - DAY
MEDICAL BAY
Leia is asleep on a bed. Her leg is being monitored by a
medic droid.
OUTSIDE MEDICAL BAY
Luke is watching Leia.
INT. TRANSPORTER#1 - PRESIDENT YIRAS OFFICE - DAY
Yira at his desk speaking to the executive - his three
assigners. Luke enters the office. The three men leave.
There is an uncomfortable pause between Luke and Yira.
PRESIDENT YIRA
How is Major Organa?
LUKE
Injured, but shell recover.
Beat
LUKE (CONTD)
I -PRESIDENT YIRA
Is there something you wanted to
say, Luke?
LUKE
I wish things had turned out
differently.
