Ken's passion to reach people at an early age led him to coach a little league football team. During theselittle league games, Ken would shout out motivational phrases to the team while other coaches were merelyconcerned about winning the game. Ken's concern and focus was different. His wife was extremely pleased as she began to lose weight and suggested to Ken, since the affirmations he uses as a daily part of his own routinehad been such a huge impact in her life and the life of the little league team, that he should begin a line of inspirational T-shirts for the world to wear. "I wasn't convinced at first," reveals Ken. "But if I was going todo it, I wanted people to inspire themselves as opposed to me inspiring them. So I changed the affirmationsaround from 'I believe in you' to 'I believe in me' which gets the person involved in believing in themselvesand their own individual destiny. At that moment, the wheels of ingenuity began to turn in Ken's mind andAffirmation Apparel was born. This would be a company that would put the task of motivation andinspiration back in the hands of the individual by giving them one simple tool, a T-shirt.In September of 2009, Affirmation Apparel launched its apparel collection of T-shirts with over ninedesigns.
