Resolution of the Finger Lakes Region of the New York State

Association of County Clerks’

Whereas, the Governor David Paterson’s proposed 2010-2011 New York State
Budget would raise a variety of fees collected by County Clerks; and

Whereas, these proposed increases would further increase the burden on

companies as well as families in need throughout our State; and

Whereas, the Governor and State Legislature should reduce State spending
rather than seek additional revenue to balance the State budget.

Now, Therefore, We, the County Clerks of the Finger Lakes Region of the
New York State Association of County Clerks do hereby state our opposition
to any and all increases in fees collected by County Clerks that are included in
Governor Paterson’s proposed 2010-2011 New York State Budget and call
upon him and the Legislature to remove such increases from the final adopted
Budget.

This resolution was adopted unanimously on January 21, 2010 and shall
be forwarded to our respective delegations in the New York State
Legislature and Governor Paterson.
