GOVERNING BOARD
Dear Mr. Joel Ieland:
Erickson Elementary is another Naylor about to happen. TUSD cannot continue 10
neglect schools by allowing poor leadership without ultimately expecting similar fallout.
Human Resource personnel receatly conducted an “environmental scan.” The staff, at
great fear of realiation, divulged shocking incidents of outrageous leadership only to be
told by Brickson’s principal supervisor thatthe report was for “in-house” purposes arly.
There are 0 plans to even share the results with the superintendent or deputy
superintendent. The principal's disturbing behavior continues to harm Erickson. Sadly,
there is no evidence thatthe distct’s process has impacted the principal in any way.
‘Are you aware tht Erickson’ principal put childrea in the school’s vault unsupervised as
a disciplinary approach? Or that toilet paper was removed from restrooms for three days
as punishment for unrolled toilet paper in one stall? At recess, lunch, and during
classroom time girls end boys had to request a handful of toilet paper from their teacher
and camry it with them through the hallway to the restroom.
‘This information was omitted in the HR debriefing. Frickson staff has a laundry list of
srievances. Many flt that CPS should have been contacted on seversl occasions. Instead
the staff stent out on a limb and put thoiz Gust ia the integrity of the TUSD chain of
command. TUSD has failed Erickson,
Please honor the many voices who spoke up forthe children and families in the Erickson
community. Read therreport (it is assumed to be recorded verbatim). Then ask some
critical questions before the schoo! slips info being the next Naylor.
Thank you
