Description

For anti-psychotics at least, Ginko Biloba does seem to help with sexual problems, but doesn't seem to be the complete answer.

Alan Ritz has an interesting book available on Amazon dealing with sex for men. It is badly written and organised, but has a very useful section on herbs and supplements.

The supplements listed in this book that I have found useful are:

L-Arginine, L-Tyrosine, Lectitin and Whey powder, to boost Nictric Oxide levels. Tribulus Terrestris to boost testosterone. Rhodiola. Panax Ginseng - interesting research into this as an sz treatment regardless of its sexual effects. Astragalus (increases blood flow).

These are all taken at the same time, at around the manufacturers recommended doses.

Note that some Tribulus Terrestris supplements just do not work. The "Tropicana" brand is a good one. You may get teenage-type Acne from increasing testosterone levels - if you cannot get rid of it then I can suggest something that I have found works, so contact me via Scribd.

Many of these supplements you can find on Body Building type sites at far cheaper prices than the health food/vitamin web sites.

Another interesting herb is Horny Goat Weed. It is in effect a viagra mimic, but without the side effects. The effect is very noticeable within an hour of taking it, and lasts several hours. However, I tried taking it every day for a few weeks, and the effects stopped - best for just occasional use.

Pycnogenol (Pine Bark Extract), when combined with L-arginine, gets good results in research studies:

"After 1 month of treatment with L-arginine, a statistically nonsignificant number of 2 patients (5%) experienced a normal erection. Treatment with a combination of L-arginine and Pycnogenol for the following month increased the number of men with restored sexual ability to 80%. Finally, after the third month of treatment, 92.5% of the men experienced a normal erection. We conclude that oral administration of L-arginine in combination with Pycnogenol causes a significant improvement in sexual function in men with ED without any side effects."

[L-arginine and Pycnogenol is precisely what the very expensive Prelox product for ED is composed of]

Also, for men, if you Google "thundersplace" you will find a certain website. It may not seem relevant or even appropriate. However, the exercises detailed on this site in my experience definitely help improve the poor sexual functioning associated with many prescription drugs.
