Applicable Senate Rules:
• Senate Rule 57 – No person shall be admitted to the floor of the Senate except elective state offi-
cers; members of the Legislature; friends of the members of the Senate, upon invitation signed by
the President and the Senator extending the invitation; former members of the Senate, officers and
employees of the legislative branch, and members of the news media who are actually employed, and
who have a card of admission from the President.
• Senate Rule 60 – Employees of the news media having a card of admission from the President may
occupy space designated for them in the Senate chamber. They shall be subject to all the rules of the
Senate and shall conduct themselves with proper decorum while in the Senate chamber. They shall
not lobby, directly or indirectly, for or against any measure pending before the legislature.
