RULES AND REGULATIONS OF PARTICIPATION
1. Participation is opened to MRSM students.2. Participation for each category is as follows :

3. The overall champion will be awarded a challenge trophy. If the samecollege retains the overall championship for three consecutive years, thetrophy will remain in their possession.4. COMPETITION GUIDELINES AND REGULATIONS
A. MATHEMATICS QUIZ
Mathematics quiz competition is one of the activities in theMRSM Mathematics Carnival.
1. OBJECTIVESOF THE COMPETITION
1.1 To enhance critical, logical, and analytical thinking of MRSMstudents.1.2 To inculcate the interest in Mathematics subject.1.3 To instill in the students, the importance and beauty of Mathematics.1.4 To encourage the spirit of competition amongst MRSM students.
2. COMPETITION CATEGORIES
2.1 Qualifying rounds will be conducted in written form and in private (no spectators). Every group of 4 participants each willanswer 25 questions within 60 minutes simultaneously. Studentsare allowed to use calculators. Total score will be based on the 4 participants’ accumulated points. 4 groups with the highest scorewill proceed to the final round. If there is more than one group inthe 4

spot, the group that will qualify for the final round will be based on the group standard deviation. If the standard deviation points are the same, decision will be made by comparing the 1
st
participant points, followed by the points obtained by the 2
nd
participant and so forth.
