FUNDAMENTAL OF ENTREPRENEURIAL ACCULTURATION (UW00302)


COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course provides students with the entrepreneurship knowledge, comprising method of
recognizing self potential in implementing entrepreneurial activities, as well as the
exposure to the basic management skills required for operating a business enterprise.

COURSE GOALS/ OBJECTIVES


• To explain and to determine the entrepreneurial characteristics and behavior.
• To identify and to assess the business opportunities and able to produce a business
proposal.
• To implement an entrepreneurship-based activity.
• To show willingness to consider entrepreneurship as career option.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
● Practice the theories of entrepreneurship into strategic planning and entrepreneurship
development activity.
● Develop a new business in economy that could be attached when initializing an
entrepreneurship career.
● Prepare and manage a feasible business proposal as a basic of new venture

IMPORTANT NOTES

1. All the test and assignments/report/presentation are compulsory for all the students.
2. All the assignments and report must be submitted before dead-line. Submission
deadlines will be strictly enforced. Assessment items must be received by the due date
and time. Extensions will only be granted on medical or compassionate grounds and
will not be granted because of work or other commitments.
3. Attendance percentage must achieve 100% (must submit an official letter to be
excused).

ASSESSMENT DETAILS

1) Written Test
-multiple choice questions that cover all material presented in lectures and the text, up
to week 7.

2) Group Assignment (business proposal)


-this is a group assignment to develop critical thinking and entrepreneurial skills.

-Requirements – format report of group assignment:

 Members of a group are limited to ten (10) persons only.

 You are adviced to refer to at least five (5) references, including journal,
articles, magazines or online journal. Please include your references in your report.

 Number of pages: 15-20 pages. (excluding references) of A4 paper,


typed with“double-spacing” , using 12 font size and Tahoma font type.

 Please submit your assignment in 2 hard-copies.

 Date of submission for the assignment: WEEK 8 before 5.00 pm

 Late submission will be penalized, one (1) mark for every one (1) day late will be
deducted from the overall marks of the assignment.

4) Practicum Presentation

-GUIDELINES FOR THE PRESENTATION AND ASSESSMENT

1. All students will be given the opportunity to present their practicum project’s report at
specific time which will be decided by the assessment panel.

2. It is up to the students to decide for their report presentation style.

3. The main contents of the report presentation should include:


a. Presentation of the report writing
i. The organization of the work structure, quality and creativity
b. Report contents and discussions:-
i. The achievement of business project’s goal
ii. The implementation/business strategy used to achieve the project’s goal
iii. The effectiveness of the practicum project compare to its plan.
iv. Significant lessons/experience obtained from the implementation of the
practicum project.

4. Q&A session will be allocated according to the relevancy and discretionary of the
assessment panel. Q&A session will be held at the end of the presentation.

5. Each team member must participate in the presentation.

6. The PowerPoint slides should be submitted before the presentation to your lecturer or
supervisor (3 slides per page is preferable).

7. The time range for the presentation: 30 minutes (including Q&A session) per group.
8. Questions are directed to all members of the group and should be resolved within half-
an-hour.
