To bring in the newyear, Cable 8 Poduc-tions has invested theirtime and talent towardsupporting a less fortu-nate member of thePullman community.Cable 8 has recently be-come involved with aneighth grade studentnamed Kwina. Kwinaattends Lincoln MiddleSchool Pullman. BothKwina and his fatherwant him to receive ahigher education be-yond high school, butbelieve that this goal isunattainable due to fi-nancial struggles andfamily illnesses.Cable 8 has been work-ing to give Kwina thischance to obtain thiseducation as well asgive him the opportu-nity and experience topursue his talents inmulti-media and broad-casting.Kwina’s story has in-spired Cable 8 to createa telethon to help raisemoney for Kwina’s col-lege fund.The telethon will beheld on February 18

from 12 p.m. to 3p.m.For those who can nottune in during the after-noon hours, Cable 8 willbe replaying the tele-thon at 7:30 p.m.WSU students andPullman residents canget involved with thetelethon by tuning intochannel 8 on February18

Kwina (Kaw-na), 14, is an8

grade student, attendingLincoln Middle School Pull-man. Kwina and his father,Steve, both active membersof the Lummi Nation in Bel-lingham, reside in Al-bion, Wash. Steve is aveteran of Vietnamand Desert Storm, butwas discharged after18 years of service dueto illness.
