Mohamed A. Al-Sahlawi and Matthew A. Elbeck, “An Alternative Oil Pricing Currency to Improve OPEC's Balance of Trade.” Oil export earnings of the OPEC members continue to be affected by the variation in the U.S. dollar against other currencies.
