III. Orders of Reptiles - Turtles and tortoises make up the third order of
reptiles.
- this group has shells.
- most of these have beaks instead of teeth.
- turtles = live in water & have flat, streamlined
shells
- tortoises = live on land & have high, domed
shells.
- Crocodiles and alligators make up the forth order of
reptiles.
- these animals spend much of their time in
water.
- alligators have broad, rounded heads.
- crocodiles have more triangular heads.
