College readiness should be an expectation not only for traditional college-bound high school students, but for all students at the high school level. It is important to ensure that all students are college ready — and especially important to address the substantial inequalities in college readiness between male and female students and among students from various racial and ethnic backgrounds, geographical locales, types of schools, and family income levels.
