he American Hu-mane Associationhas joined forceswith the Animal Relief Co-alition for Haiti(ARCH), an inter-national group of professional animalwelfare organiza-tions committed toaiding animals in theearthquake-strickenregion. The group ispreparing a mobileanimal clinic andstaff to perform out-reach work in Haiti,with training providedby ARCH. The coalition alsowill be assessing and assist-ing with the needs of animalsbelonging to people displacedby the disaster, as they moveinto temporary camps. his is Ranger. He is10 months old rightnow and he is an allblack Bombay. He was bornon Feb. 1, 2009. We have hadhim since he was 12 weeksold. But only one week afterwe got him everything wentsouth.I was home alone andRanger was on my lap watch-ing my favorite televisionshow. There was a loud noiseand he jumped off my lap. Ithought nothing of it until heran under the couch and thecouch started moving and mak-ing ticking noises. I knew itwasn’t good. I moved the sidetable and pulled him out. Hewas foaming at the mouth andhaving a seizure. I called mymom immediately and brokeinto tears thinking I was go-ing to lose another one of mybeloved animals. She told methat she was going to be righthome. When she got home
just minutes later, he was ne
and she didn’t completely be-lieve me.One week later it hap-pened again. We brought himto the emergency vet and theysaid some kittens suffer withseizures.He continued to have hisseizures, so that’s when webrought him to a special vet.($900 later) Ranger is on anti-seizure medication (liquid) hetakes twice a day (it’s cherry
avored). He is good at taking
