Costumes

Throughout our opening scene we will use costumes that fit in with
conventional horror films. Costumes are important throughout the
film as they connote a lot of information to the audience, our group
will may sure the costumes are accurate and clear throughout the
film.

Antagonist- The antagonist will be wearing dirty, baggy ripped

jeans and a t-shirt that hang of his skeletal body, this will show that
he hasn’t washed or changed his clothes in at least a few days,
making the audience think that he doesn’t care about his
appearance and his presents. These clothes will be darkly coloured
and possibly red to connote danger, death and pain. As his identity
is unknown the baggy cloths will further hide his identity making the
audience think he has something to hide. The mans body posture
will be shown to be slouchy and withdrawn making the audience as
making the audience think he has something to hide.

These costumes can be

easily sourced. We will
ask the character
playing the antagonist to
wear jeans and a dark
coloured top and jumper.
Protagonist- Jane, the protagonist will be wearing normal pale
coloured clothing as this connotes her naivety and innocence to the
audience. She will be wearing lots of layers as this makes the
audience feels as if she wants to be covered up and hidden making
her look vulnerable. She will be wearing a long black coat over her
pale colours when she walks out the house as because blacks hint at
her death and her ultimate fate. Also she will wear a white scarf
when leaving the house, wrapping this round her neck will connote
to the audience that she is trying to keep herself safe moreover it
could signify that she will be strangled. She will ideally have blonde
hair and wearing very natural make up as this will convey her
innocence as the pale colours show her purity and defencelessness.

The protagonists clothing will

also be able to source. When
we are filming the scenes
with the protagonist in we
shall ask her to wear pales
colours. Before filming we
will be able to apply make up
efficiently making sure it
looms professional. The black
coat and the scarf will be
provided by the group
members.
Nurses- The nurses will be wearing smart clothing, a collared shirt
and black trousers. As a group we decided that this would be
appropriate as the nurses aren’t actually working in a hospital.
Wearing smart clothing will make them look
professional
showing the
audience that
they are
important in the
film.

These costumes
will also be
provided by the
characters as
the group wont
be able to find
black trousers
and a shirt
which will fit
both characters. These costumes will be simple to find but they will
signify a lot in the film.

Crime scene officers- The crime scene officers will be shown

wearing forensic suits. These white all suits will denote a crime
scene making the audience presume that there has been a murder
or a crime. These characters will also be wearing a facial mask and
shoe protectors making them looking professional and realistic.
We will source this costume from Police Services. As these costumes
will be from the Police they have to disposed of after we have used
them so we don’t cause any upset to people around the area.
