30 Days of Boredom-Day NineteenAn Experiment in WritingBy AJ Mars“In reviewing the turning points of our life wemay discover growth, or lack thereof. Explore thethemes of growth in your personal turning pointsand how it relates to the current course material.”Given the choice between completing thisassignment and eating a piece of key lime pie fullof glass shards, Sheila felt she tempted to pick thelatter. At least she liked pie. What she did not like was looking through herpast. She was sort of forbidden to pry too closelyinto that life anymore, part of a wonderful dealstruck for her criminal father. He was utter scum, according to everyone except his current girlfriend-of-the-month. But he was a blabber, and that kepthim, and the family he hadn’t raised, free. It’s hard to get comfortable when you knowhow you’re under constant scrutiny, both fromthose that might want to kill you and those there to
you. It often feels more like publicisolation, but, mostly boring. And tiring.
