PRSSA Executive Board Position Descriptions
Elections will be held Monday, February 8, 2010, during our meeting time. In order to run fora position, one must be a dues-paying member of PRSSA. To apply, submit a memodetailing your experience and how you would make the position better by Friday, February5. You can turn the memos in at a meeting, place them in the PRSSA mailbox (locatedbehind Scripps 111), or by emailing them as an attachment to scripps.prssa@gmail.com. If you want to learn more about what a member of the executive board does, ask any of thecurrent board members. Their contact information and position descriptions are listed below.
President
As president of PRSSA, one is responsible for overseeing the general operations of thechapter. The president leads the general and executive board meetings, setting the agendaand designating upcoming events. He/She is automatically a member of the Scripps Collegeof Communication and acts as a liaison between the chapter and the College of Communication. The president can lead the organization as he/she feels will best benefit thechapter and its members, including instituting or adjusting any programs, tradition, orevents related to PRSSA. He/She is also in charge of ensuring the other executive boardmembers are fulfilling their responsibilities.
Weekly Responsibilities May Include:
Leading general and executive board meetings
Managing chapter email and communication
Overseeing success of weekly/quarterly events

Executive Vice President
 The vice president is responsible for locating and scheduling weekly speakers, as well asestablishing and maintaining relationships with various professional affiliates of the chapter.

VP of Internal Relations
 The secretary serves as a liaison between PRSSA members and the executive board, so youmust send out weekly reminders to members about the speaker and upcoming PRSSAevents. You are also in charge of taking attendance at meetings and updating the list serve.As the historian you are responsible for taking pictures at meetings and events in order todocument what PRSSA has done during the current school year.

VP of Finance
 The treasurer is responsible for keeping track of the expenditures and deposits made fromand into the PRSSA bank account. He/She is in charge of reimbursing members who makepurchases for the chapter and for ensuring dues get paid to national PRSSA. The treasureris also in charge of asking the Student-Activities Commission (SAC) for funds every quarter. The treasurer also runs a fundraising committee and plans fundraisers for our chapter.

VP of Member Relations
 The membership director primarily constructs the mentor/mentee program, and serves as amentor for students interested in joining PRSSA by answering potential questions, andhaving a general knowledge about events going on in PRSSA. The position also requireshelping the social chair when he/she needs assistance to plan events. This position is also incharge of keeping track of the point system.

CEO of ImPRessions
ImPRessions is Ohio University's student-run public relations firm, which operates underPRSSA. The
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ImPRessions
also serves on the PRSSAexecutive board. ImPRessions operates the same way a professional agency does, so theresponsibilities of the CEO are similar. The CEO, with the account supervisors' assistance, isresponsible for meeting with and selecting the firm's clients each year. In addition, the CEOmust select the account supervisors and account executives for the firm, place members onaccounts, oversee each account's activities throughout the year, serve as the client contactfor the ImPRessions account, organize and implement the PR for Dummies workshop, keepstrong relationships with the clients, and serve as a representative on the College of Communication Student Council, as well as the PRSSA executive board. Any comments,complaints and suggestions for the firm are directed to the CEO, and he/she is responsiblefor maintaining the prestigious reputation of the nationally awarded firm.

VP of Public Relations
 The VP of PR is in charge of the overall promotions of the chapter and serves as the editor of PR Success, the internal newsletter for the chapter. As editor, the Vice President of PR mustrecruit writers, brainstorm and edit the stories and design the layout. This duty is typicallyheaviest at the beginning of the quarter to organize the quarter's issue and during the lastthree weeks to edit and layout the stories. On a weekly basis, the VP of PR serves as themain editor of the chapter's blog by posting speaker bios and meeting agendas. He/She alsois responsible for managing the Chapter's Twitter account on a daily basis. Otherresponsibilities that may arise promote the deal with promoting chapter at recruitment fairsand promote the Chapter's events to an audience of students and faculty. The overall timecommitment for this position varies on a weekly basis (see duties as PR Success editor).

VP of External Relations/National Liaison
 The National Liaison is the primary communication between the regional committee and theOU chapter. Every quarter the Liaison is required to attend a meeting in Columbus to updatethe regional committee on what our chapter is doing and to get information about the otheruniversity chapters.
