Bradford Conservation Commission Meeting January 7, 2010 MinutesMembers present:

of December 15 meeting were approved as written
Finances –
 The first installment of $1200 has been received by the Town Treasurer from theRiver Management Grant.
Conservation Fund has received a $500 donation from Copeland Furniture aspart of a 2009 SAGE award Copeland received from Cargill, Inc. recognizingenvironmental accomplishments. There is potential for an additional $500 matchfrom Cargill.
Nancy Jones reported that Conservation Fund revenues in 2009 were $13,200.
Energy Committee -
Bradford did not receive one of the Energy Efficiency Community Block Grants.Nancy to inquire of her contacts as to why

Stewardship -
 Tom reported that despite the abundant snow on the ground, the size of thebrush pile dictates that we further delay burning.
Conservation Fund/Land Conservation -

Nancy reported that there is a possibility that the Vermont Housing andConservation Board (VHCB) might be allowed to go defunct. Gov. Douglas modelseems to be consolidation of the housing component without an organizationwith a focus on conservation. Since Legislature Day is not until February 24,Nancy said we must contact our Representatives expresssing our opposition todissolution of VHCB. Nancy will draft a letter for distribution to BCC members forcomment

2010 BCC Retreat has been scheduled to occur at Sandy Prices' home on January 30
th
from 10 AM until 2 PM. Thank you, Sandy, for your hospitality.

Guidelines for establishing 2010 Priorities
Election of Officers for 2010
Identification of 2010 Priorities
Suggestions were made as to how we might best use the $1200 from RiverManagement Grant:
