Cell Discussion-From Civilians to Soldiers The church is facing extraordinary challenge and opposition from otherreligions especially Islam as well as generation culture (more fun, moreentertainment, more pleasure, more computer games, etc) and lifestyleswhich leads to a time poor society). As Christians, we need to arise andnot stand on the sidelines. There is a war out there and we are called tobe soldiers in that war. It is not a physical war but a spiritual war. It is nota war to extend physical boundaries, but a war to bring souls into theKingdom of God. To be a soldier, we must first of all, change our mindset. In 2 Kings 7,there’s a story about four lepers in the besieged city, Samaria. Theirmindset brought about a breakthrough in that situation.

Do something—v.3-Why should we sit here waiting to die

Have a cause-v. 4- We will starve if we stay here, but with thefamine in the city, we will starve if we go back there. So we might aswell go out and surrender to the Aramean army.

Be bold-v. 5- If they let us live so much the better. But if they kill us,we would have died anyway.

Share your blessings with others-
Finally they said to each other,“This is NOT RIGHT, This is a day of good news and we aren’tsharing it with anyone. Come on, let’s go back and tell the people atthe palace.Secondly, we must change our dress code. We need to put on the fullarmour of God which is described in Eph 6:12-17.Discussion questions:

What are some of the “enemies” e.g. pleasures, entertainment, etcthat stop us from sharing our faith to others?2.Ask people to talk about a time when they shared their faith withsomeone who did not know God. How did they feel?
3.
What are some of the obstacles to sharing your faith?
(fear of rejection, fear of being ostracised, fear of having nothing to say,fear of making a fool of oneself etc.)
Are these legitimate obstacles?If so, what are some of the solutions to these hindrances?4.What aspects of the mindset mentioned above need developing inyour life? What will do about it this week?
