James Carlson's book length manuscript, entitled "Americans, Credulous - or - The Arrogance of Congenital Liars & Other Character Defects - Establishing the Truth Behind the Echo Flight UFO Incident of March 16, 1967" debunks completely the Echo Flight UFO Incident of March 16, 1967, and proves that the myth of UFO interference with the nuclear weapons systems at Malmstrom AFB in March 1967 is a poorly executed lie propogated by Robert Salas, James Klotz, Robert Hastings, Brad Sparks, CUFON, and NICAP - a lie that has no basis in fact and lacks even the most liberal standards of proof. In this book, James Carlson, utilizing newly discovered documents, many of the same documents used to originally support what appears to be an unsupportable belief in UFO interference with the Malmstrom missile systems, and the published statements of those individuals attempting to establish such interference as historically accurate, manages to destroy, in minute, step-by-step detail, every aspect of the claims originally made by Robert Salas and James Klotz in their book "Faded Giant". Fully documented and footnoted, this book by an affirmed skeptic looks at all sides of this surprisingly well-documented event. If you haven't read this book in its entirety, then you do not understand the events that occurred at Echo Flight and elsewhere at Malmstrom AFB in March, 1967. The author is distributing this book free of charge in order to correct the historical record, so badly maligned by the individuals named above, and because his father was the commander at Echo Flight on March 16, 1967.

– Russia’s test launch of a nuclear-capable intercontinental missilehas failed, provoking hundreds of reports of UFO sightings over Norway. The submarine-based Bulava ballistic missile was fired from the White Sea, the RussianDefense Ministry said. The White Sea, close to Norway's arctic region, is Russia's preferred staging ground for testlaunches of this type. The Russians said problems emerged when the missile deployed its third stage engine andwent off course and out of control.Within seconds an eerie transparent white light formed a giant spiral that cover Norway'sskies before a turquoise beam of light shot out from its center -- lasting for about 10 minutes andfanning reports ranging from a meteor, northern lights, a failed missile or even an unidentifiedflying object. The Bulava can carry up to 10 individually targeted nuclear warheads and has a maximumrange of 5,000 miles. It is a sea-based version of Russia's land-based ballistic missile, the Topol-M, which the military has been using since 2006.Bent on bolstering its deterrent force, the failed test was an embarrassment for the Russians.

"Such lights and clouds appear from time to time when a missile fails in the upper layers of the atmosphere and have been reported there," Russian defense analyst Pavel Felgenhauer wasquoted as saying in a DefenseNews report."At least this failed test made some nice fireworks for the Norwegians," he quipped. The Norwegian Meteorological Institute is said to have received a deluge of calls fromconfused and concerned members of the public. This was the 12th test launch of the Bulava and the seventh time the firing proved far from asuccess. The missile is a key part of Russia's designs to rebuild it aging arsenal. But persistentproblems with the Bulava have become what analysts call an agonizing issue for Moscow."The Defense Ministry has ploughed a large proportion of its procurement budget intoensuring that the missile becomes the key element of its rocket forces," DefenseNews reported. The previous failure, on July 16, precipitated the resignation of Yury Solomonov, director of Moscow's Institute of Thermal Technology, responsible for developing the missile. The missile's repeated problems have also cast a pall on U.S.-Russian negotiations in whichthe two Cold War enemies are now trying to revise the parameters of a new arms reduction treatyto replace the 1991 START accord.Should the missile fail to operate new Borei Submarines developed to launch Bulavas willprove useless.

The main points to get out of this article are: (1) the test took place in Russia’s preferredstaging ground – they test missiles there all the time; (2) this incident wasn’t isolated; suchphenomena occur from time to time when a missile fails in the upper atmosphere; (3) this testwas the twelfth test conducted for this missile type – it was the seventh time the test had failed;(4) the failed test provoked “hundreds” of UFO sighting reports –

Any judicious selection of commentaries from the thousands of internet UFO forumsavailable to anyone with a PC and the kind of patience that’s left undiminished by waste andsloth even at the tail end of Congressional debate on whether or not to recognize the culturalvalue of Tim Burton or some other faceless individual who likes cartoons and corpses way toomuch for most Disney-weaned Americans will immediately give the hypothetical researcher afairly accurate representation of the general folklore and level of belief surrounding just aboutany UFO-oriented event proposed since the 19

The only name I do not recognize is some lackey named James Carlson. You arrogant, condescending, misinformation spreading SOB. There are not a "few" "questionable" reports here and there by questionable material, you mental midget. There is literally a mount Everest of evidence from high level officers, including generals, letters from commanders verifying events once they had retired and they were no longer risking their pensions. There are reports from police officers airline pilots and military personnel from all over the country. There is physical evidence in the form of video taken, that has been validated by the commanding officer and civilian video verified by experts. In addition there are landing sights that show abnormally high levels of radiation to this day. On some spots the ground has been baked by microwaves to the point that it has become hydrophobic. There are official reports in other countries as to the protocol to be followed if a UFO is sighted, also if it lands. You may have heard of something the Phoenix lights, and no I don't mean the flares that were dropped later that evening. Beginning around 1, 1/2 hours earlier people, tens of thousands, saw a gigantic boomerang shaped craft flying hundreds of miles from northern Arizona to southern Arizona. One of the witnesses was the then Governor of Arizona, Fife Symington. Try Google-ing Governor Fife Symington, former Governor of Arizona and what he witnessed and believes about what he saw that night, if you can manage that. The list of credible people with corroboration, along with credible and scrutinized video and pictures taken, both in Belgium and throughout Europe, speak a lot louder than you lame ass attempts at debunking. That is why over 50% of US citizens believe in the existence of high technology devices not made on earth and called UFOs. The evidence is mountainous. People do not need an "official government spokesperson" to validate it in an official forum. Where people are at today is the following: they know UFOs are real. Officially published studies as France i.e., the Cometa report spells it out in plain French that can be translated into plain English. You remind me of a relic. Something from the 60's era and the condon report. You are fifty years behind the mainstream. People are also aware their government, especially the US govt will never (unless a ship lands on the White house lawn) Never tell them the truth about that subject. They go about their lives. What else can they do. The lame ass debunkers in the year 2014 is unacceptable without firm rebuttal. Anyone attempting to debunk this phenomenon, needs to deal with the libraries full of official, corroborated reports by high ranking military officials as well as the literally volumes of clear sightings by airline pilots that saw them, corroborated by the flight crew and passengers, if they want to be taken seriously at any time and anywhere at all.
