 WashClean friends,
 You can make the difference.
Please take a moment to act on this.
With only one judicial bill (SB 5912) still in play in the legislature,
we MUST get SB 5912"pulled" from the Senate Rules Committee, onto the Senate floor for a vote - byTuesday, February 16th!

(SB 5912 = Supreme Court Fair Elections bill)
If the full Senate does not vote by then, it's dead.
Rules Committee members are listed below.
Each senator is given a set number of "pulls"(votes) - to move a bill forward (from White Sheet, to Green Sheet, to the Senate floor), for a fullSenate vote.Want details? Here's how the process works (click here):www.leg.wa.gov/Senate/Committees/RULE/Pages/RulesShorthandGuide.aspx
Please ask Senate leaders to use their influence
, to move SB 5912 to the Senate floor for avote. If you have friends in legislative districts with a senator who IS on the Rules Committee, ask themto contact their senator. Ask them to respond to you, what they can and will do. Ask -- Will they vote to "pull" SB 5912, for a vote?
Also - if you have time
- call or write to House leaders (because any Senate-approved bill willthen move to the House, for review and approval - so we're 'paving the way').
Listed below
- Senate leaders, House leaders, and Senate Rules Committee members.
Legislative Hotline:
1-800-562-6000 (Operators take messages, for YOUR lawmakers).
Key additional points / Messages - for our lawmakers:
1.
Citizens are outraged over the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling
that "corporations arepersons" with First Amendment rights to spend freely to tilt the outcome of elections. Please

demonstrate that the legislature is not "tone-deaf" to voter concern over this Court ruling.2.
Approval of SB 5912 sends the message:
Lawmakers recognize that voters - notmountains of special-interest money - should determine the outcome of judicial elections. Itdemonstrates that our state supreme court is not for sale! - and must be kept immune fromcampaign finance tugs-of-war.3.
This is a modest yet important program.
It is paid for without tapping the state's generalfund or raising taxes - through a modest surcharge ($3) on court filing fees. That's a small price,to assure impartiality and voter confidence in the state supreme court.
Ponder this:
A tidal wave consists of millions of water molecules - but EACH makes adifference. Without each of them, there would be no wave!Get the picture? This is how and why we'll get our democracy back, one step at a time - on atidal wave of public action.
Thanks for being part of the wave!
