The same principle has alsobeen described as prominence effects (Gardner, 1983), environmentalsalience effects (Taylor & Fiske, 1978), novel popout effect (Johnson,Hawley, Plewe, Elliott, & De Witt, 1990), next-in-line effect(Brenner, 1973).
