Direct daily operations of this start-up consulting practice; currently provide industry expertise tothe customers of Newberg Turbo Paper Group. Act as papermaking operations coach, driving thedevelopment of manufacturing plans with the equipment operators and providing appropriatefollow-up to evaluate productivity and quality issues. Delve into multiple layers of the businessand its production operations, acting as a change agent in reorganizing start-up and shutdownprocedures. Served as part of the team that led development and implementation of processimprovement initiatives for Longfibre Paper, Inc. (Longview, WA), McKenzie BC, Kapuskasing, On,Pine Falls, Mb and Thorold On, resulting in significant improvements in safety, housekeeping, andpaper machine productivity. Inducted into the Couch Pit University (CPU) in March 2007 foroutstanding leadership and contributions to the industry.
1998 - 2006
Effectively maintained safety, quality, and efficiency while maximizing production. Supervised 36operators and maintenance crew. Assisted in hiring process, actively trained, and conducteddisciplinary action. 90% of staff met or exceeded quotes set by management. Effectively initiatedoperators from paper mill in the pulp manufacturing; three months (January – March 2006) of basic training completed as Pulp Mill supervisor that included experience in fiberline, recaust andkiln, chips thickners and screening, along with Digester, Bleach Plant, Chem Plant, and PulpMachine areas. Experienced with basic operation of vapor phase digester, diffusion and drumwasher, and overviewed the BFB and Recovery boilers from the steam plant.

Directed safety clothing, quality, and efficiency aspects. Managed six Paper Machine Supervisors.Long and short term planning as well as paper machine maintenance down time. Created andenforced budget to maintain positive return from paper machine. Increased the paper machinespeed from 3140 to 3600 fpm despite the minimal budget. As Assistant Superintendent,supported Superintendent in relation to duties and leadership for six Paper Machine Supervisors.Performed within safety, quality, and efficiency team. Participated in start up of a Valmet HSFormer and a Valmet KL1000 Winder.
