Svenska Dagbladet, quoting

formation from Gydnia, said
to
day that only
950
passengers
out
of
at
least 10,000 packed
on the
25,000-ton German liner WilhelmGustloff
had
been rescued whenthe ship
was
torpedoed
two
hoursafter leaving Gdynia.
A
Finnishradio broadcast Sunday said
the
liner
was
sunk while evacuatingrefugees
and
sailors from Danzig,a
few
miles below Gdynia.
It
placed
the
loss
of
life
at
7,700.
