ize, evidently, does matter. AndIndia is making a statementabout the size of its defencemarket at the sixth edition of Defexpo, the biennial Land andNaval Defence Systems Exhibition, whichis being touted as largest defence exposi-tion in Asia. Industry estimates peg India’sarms spend at $100 billion (Rs 4,62,850crore) over the next 10 years. “The Boe-ing-addressable business alone is $31 bil-lion (Rs 1,43,917.5 crore) in the next 10years,” declares Dr Vivek Lall, Vice Presi-dent of Boeing Defence, Space and Secu-rity. Straight Talk
CONGRATULATIONS!
Decisively sweeping away ear-lier scepticism emanating fromcertain quarters about the veryplanning and implementation ofthis year’s chapter of the Defex-po, the event has emerged witha resounding bang under the re-markable steersmanship of theDefence Exhibition Organisation(DEO). Assuming the mantle ofthe sole organiser of this interna-tional event, DEO (a wing of theMinistry of Defence) has infusedevery single administerial pro-cedure of Defexpo 2010—fromexhibitor registration to website(http://www.defexpoindia.in/)development—with admirableprofessionalism and flawless ex-ecution. SP’s congratulates theDEO for this remarkable feat andlooks forward to four days of en-grossing and unhindered indus-trial and business exchange!

BETWEEN PARTNERSHIPS PROMISED AND PARTNERSHIPS ACHIEVED,THERE IS ONE IMPORTANT WORD: HOW.
In a world that continues to change dramatically, governments increasingly seek to accomplish their mostvital goals by working with advanced technology companies from around the globe. Building and sustainingpartnerships that achieve their objectives is a matter of how. And it is the how that makes all the difference.
