Welcome to the 20th Anniversary of theSouth Carolina Environmental Conference!
“One Water”
No matter where we are in the state of South Carolina we’re connected by our waters. As it courses through our watersheds it sustains our communities and supports our industry. We are surrounded by challenges to be the stewards of that water. The SCEC is where we have gathered for many years to learn and exchange the ideas that make us better stewards of our water resource and better professionals for our communities. While the challenges to the waters of South Carolina have rarely beengreater, we have never had a greater legacy of professionalism upon which to build.“One Water” encompasses watershed protection, water law and rights, potable water,
water distribution, backow prevention, stormwater, wastewater collection, wastewater
treatment and reclamation, water reuse and environmental protection. “One Water” is the
continuous cycle of the same water that owed throughout the lands of the rst colonies
in America and traverses our state today. “One Water” includes the people who care for that water in some way, shape or form day in and day out, 365 days a year.
Where do you t within “One Water”? As convenient as it would be to use water
without concern for others, we know we shoulder the responsibility for its care andconservation wherever water touches our professions. We are all part of the SouthCarolina community of “One Water”. Join our community of water professionals again at the 20th annual SCEC where wecelebrate our successes and renew ourselves to the challenges of “One Water”. We doit in the company of our colleagues and friends, we do it to grasp knowledge and better prepare ourselves for our profession, we do it for the people of South Carolina we serveevery day.See you at the Beach!Janet Hurley Cann Gary Visser WEASC President SCAWWA Chair
