before diagnosing anyone with a psychiatric illness and consequently starting them on a mind altering medication that generally has unpleasant if not toxic side effects it is incumbant upon a doctor to do a full physical workup and check thyroid levels, vitamin D levels, and possibly do a glucose tolerance test to see if there is reactive hypoglycemia, look for other underlying chronic conditions and LISTEN to what is going on in the patient's life. anything short of that violates hippocratic oath of FIRST DO NO HARM

actually u know what, perscribing geodon doesnt make a competent doctor, for example, the doc that perscribed geodon to me at 120 mg once a day was a complete idiot. first of all that dosage isnt recommended as well as the fact that i have never been diagnosed with bipolar or schiz maybe u should change your idea of a competent doctor

Dear Alene, I am an academic lawyer who has an expertise in law and psychiatry. I am not a psychiatrist and so I cannot give you psychiatric advice. Try asking your psychiatrist about "Geodone" as a medication, that might help you. Thanks, Tony

Interesting article. I was recently in a mental health facility for 6 days and they put me on Depakote and Seroquel. Should I be taking only the seroquel and in what dosage? It does make my tongue thick and talking difficult, but that could be because I take the depakote and buspar with it at the same time. Some advice, please.
