Programs/Tools:

Objectives:

Learn how to code both in HTML and CSS.

Properly apply the design focus principles to our coded web page.

Process:

First I created the logo using Adobe Ilustrator. This projuct is in

conjunction with another project so the description for making the logo can
be found under its own project. I first created the base code for the website
using HTML coding. These was mostly what the site would say, and the
logo itself. The color, design and everything else you see was accomplished
using CSS coding. I looked up a coulpe of coding tricks especially for my
design and what you see to the right is the end result.

Programs/Tools:
Adobe InDesign

Objectives:

Learn to use Paragraph Styling

Learn to use page guides for folding and desgin.

Process:

Logo creation in Illustrator, Text wrapping, Paragraph Styling, Image

editing and trimming. I had a project to try and create a PR campaign
for the Orphanage Service Support Organization. My group was asked to
help with a existing idea they had known as October for Orphans. I was
tasked with the design of a brochure that would be handed out as part of a
fundraiser that described OSSOs to help children with less than adequate
care. I formulated the message and created the logo and layout of the
brochure. After many critiques and suggestions from my group mates I
came up with this final design. The idea was to create something that would
hopefully remind people that it doesnt take much effort on their part to
begin helping those who are truly in need.

Course/Instructor:
COMM 130
Mr. Ben Pingel

Programs/Tools:

Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Indesign

Objectives:

Create a new logo for whatever compnay or person we so choose.

Create business cards based on that logo.

Process:

First I made the logo at the top left and center of the card. This was
accomplished by creating circles with a taper and copying them and
rotating them around a center point. Then I made the A shape at the
center. Then using InDesign I placed and organized the elements into the
business card design you see to right.

Objectives:

This is a photo design project that I did for my Visual media class. We
were asked to take a proper photo incorporating the principals of focus,
composition, and lighting into taking a quality image.

Process:

I first took the picture using a simple 14.1 megapixel point and shoot
camera. Using Photoshop I was able to edit the image and bring greater
clarity to the shot. Changing saturation and vibrance of the colors,
sharpening the needed fine lines, and resizing it to a workable size. Then,
still using photoshop, I was able to create the design above picking a split
complimentary color scheme for the design. The photo fit well within the
color scheme.

Logos

Programs/Tools:
Adobe Illustrator

Objectives:

Learn to create logos using vector graphics in Illustrator

Process:

Creating logos was really quite a change from everything else we have done.
Illustrator was by far the bigger part of that different feel. First I decided
that I was going to just use my own name as the basis for my logo since I
already knew who I was and I knew how to represent myself. I did a few
different styles of logos and then got a feel from other people which of them
felt was the most appealing and professional. So after deciding to follow
their advice I made the three variations of that logo you see above. Along
with a few changes to the original design.

Flier
Description:

Black and white flier to promote a Graduate Leadership Conference

Date:

Course/Instructor:
COMM 130
Mr. Ben Pingel

Programs/Tools:
Adobe InDesign

Objectives:

Learn to use Adobe InDesign

Organize elements properly to give correct flow and value to each element
Learn how to properly contrast fonts.

Process:

First I sketched out some of my ideas for this flier. Then using Adobe
InDesign I began to put my ideas together. I went with a mostly black
design to make it contrast a bit more in an attempt to draw attention. I
used white and black boxes and frames to create repetition and flow. I
emphasized one word in the title to create a focal point. I was given the
image and all of the content of this flier. My assignment was merely to
organize what I was given.

was able to be aligned was aligned as well.

New Flier Project

Description:

These fliers were created to supplement a public relations campaign for my

COMM 235 class. The organization we are trying to create this campaign
for is the Orphanage Support Service Organization.

Date:

July 15, 2015

Course/Instructor:
COMM 130
Mr. Ben Pingel

Programs/Tools:
Adobe InDesign

Objectives:

Futher perfect my understanding of InDesign.

Supplement the needs of the public relations campaign.

Process:

I first looked at the original brochure I created for OSSO and notice that
the print cost would be a bit high for their budget. I decided to simplify
the information and create a more cost effective design for them to use as
handouts. I also created another flier that could be used for fundraising at
anytime of the year, not just during the month of October.
