Have some cables with your lace! I love designs that incorporateboth twists and holes. The leaves in the bouquets are formed bylace stitches and are complemented by simple cable twists in thestems. Because this design features a large pattern motif, you canuse a slightly variegated yarn without obscuring the bouquets.

Toe
Using a Turkish Cast-On, a Figure-Eight Cast-On, or Judy’s MagicCast-On, cast on a total o 28 (32,36) stitches—14 (16, 18) stitcheson each needle. Knit across thestitches on each needle once. Onthe next round, increase 4 stitchesas ollows:

STarT The lace paTTern
On needle 1, work the frst row o the Bouquet lace chart over the next28 (32, 36) stitches. Knit acrossneedle 2.Continue in this manner, working asmany repeats o the 28-row patternas necessary until approximately 3" (7.5cm) shy o the total length o the oot.

ron 1
Work across needle 1 inthe lace pattern. Needle 2 (solestitches): K1, m1, knit across to thelast stitch, m1, k1.
ron 2
Work across needle 1in the lace pattern. Needle 2(sole stitches): Knit all stitches.Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until youhave 48 (54, 60) stitches onneedle 2. On the last round 2,increase 1 stitch in the center o the sole or a total o 49 (55, 61)stitches. Work across needle 1 in thechart pattern.
Turn The heel
You will now work back and orthon the stitches on needle 2 and willnot knit the stitches on needle 1 while turning the heel. Turn the heelas ollows:
