I understand you will have a field trip to an apple orchard. What is an apple orchard?What will you do there? How many of you like apples, apple pie?
Using The Apple Pie Tree, by Zoe Hall, the student will be able to identify the stages of an apples tree throughout the seasons and demonstrate an understanding of the text.
Provide background information on the author. She loves to bake apple pies and her recipe in the back of the book. Display the book cover and ask the student to predictwhat the book is about. Does the cover show the whole tree? What else do you see inthe tree? How can a tree grow apple pie? Read the story to the class.
“Let’s Collect Some Apples for Our Pie”. Using the SB I will show the students an appletree. Our task is to pick the apples to make our pie. I will demonstrate one question.
