Description

The Kiwi Project is largely the result of two concurrent events. After an acquaintance moved to Portland, I was told about an effort there called “Free Geek” which recycles old computers for use in low income households. Brilliant concept and a pang of guilt on my conscience for two years. Sitting around in Striebel Hall, printing an ersatz draft of some paper, I off-handedly mentioned the idea to Instructor Tom Stokke. What ensued was a substantial push and rush support by the university, faculty and Mr. Stokke, himself. Not to be marginalized is the importance of cofounder my Jayson Cofell, who is more willing than I to spend several hours on grub and fixing ethernet support. Many, many other individuals have played a role in this project even in its nascent period (some of whom many not know it). Not meaning to diminish appreciation, credit will follow later.
