What is bitterness?
Bitterness is holding on to or showing feeling of stronghatred or anger, or wanting to get back at someone. Itcan also be referred to as merciless, unforgiving, holdinga grudge.
Facts concerning bitterness:
1.The Bible warns us against the dangers of bitterness:
looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the graceof God; lest any root of bitterness springing upcause trouble, and by this many become defiled;
(Hebrew 12:15 New King James Version)
2.Replace bitterness with love, kindness andforgiveness:
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawlingand slander, along with every form of malice. Bekind and compassionate to one another, forgivingeach other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
(Ephesians 4:31-32 New International Version)
3.Give a place to bitterness in your heart andyou will murmur and complain:
The reply of Job: "My complaint today is still abitter one, and my punishment far more severethan my fault deserves. Oh, that I knew where tofind God-that I could go to his throne and talk withhim there. I would tell him all about my side of thisargument, and listen to his reply, and understandwhat he wants.

4.Bitterness comes from feelings of anger andan unforgiving attitude towards others. Hereare some solutions from the Bible:
The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to thehungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.

So if you are about to offer your gift to God at thealtar and there you remember that your brotherhas something against you, leave your gift there infront of the altar, go at once and make peace withyour brother, and then come back and offer yourgift to God.
