Supervision
Parents or guardians of minors are responsible
for dropping off and picking up their children
promptly at the facility.

The Hillsborough Department of Parks and

Recreation is committed to an inclusive
approach to recreation. Inclusion is individuals
with and without disabilities participating in
recreation activities together.

Eligibility
All township residents are eligible to participate
in all programs, assuming the participant meets
the age or grade criteria outlined. Where
available, non-residents may participate in
certain programs for an additional fee.
Financial Assistance
The Department of Parks and Recreation offers
reduced fee registration for children who are
eligible under the guidelines of the Federal
Subsidized Lunch Program. Please call our
office for information prior to registration.
Communication
Closing notifications and cancellations due to
inclement weather will be posted on our website,
Facebook, and Twitter pages.

In order for individuals with disabilities to

participate as fully as possible, reasonable
accommodations are provided. These are
individualized techniques and resources used to
enhance program participation without
fundamentally altering the program. Inclusion
makes it possible for individuals to choose from
the vast array of programs offered by the
Department of Parks and Recreation.
For more information, or to request assistance
and accommodations, please contact us at (908)
369-4832. We request at least two weeks notice

Swim Lessons
Our swim lessons are an excellent way to get your child acquainted with the water. Qualified and
enthusiastic instructors from the Hillsborough YMCA teach your child the skills needed to be a successful
swimmer. With a small instructor to student ratio and different levels of classes, each child will learn new
skills quickly.

Age: 6 to 7 years

For the little fish in your life. Basic skills are taught to
children to help them adjust to the aquatic
environment so they become comfortable in the
water. The learning process is directed through the
parents, and parents or guardians are expected to be
in the pool with their child.

This class builds on skills learned at the beginner

level, but first-time students are always welcome.
Children will learn to tread water, turn over while
floating, swim on front, and water safety. Instruction
will be tailored to the abilities of the children in the
class.

Safe water entry, comfort in the water, swimming

safety, front and back floats, and submerging the
